Abstract

The hand-off asuchparatus for a call-in-progres is arranged that both a ratio of a length of time, in which a measured value of SNP (at 9, 10, 11) is below a predetermined threshold to a total lengtratio of a of the measuring time, and a second length of time in which a measured value of RSSI (at 14) is below a predetermined threshold to a total length of the measuring time are detected. The first ratio functions mainly when the threshold of RSSI is predetermined to a relatively low value. The second ratio functions mainly when the threshold of RSSI is predetermined to a relatively high value. The received signal is converted into an IR signal, and the SNR and RSSI are calculated. High frequency signals received by the antenna (1) are amplified and mixed with signals from the oscillator (4) to produce IF signals.

Description

PATENTKRAV 1. A method for transmitting an ongoing call in a small cell mobile radio communication system and comprising the steps of: receiving a signal; detecting both a signal property and an RSSI from the signal simultaneously with and independently of one another; determining a time of transmission based on the received detected signal property when the detected RSSI satisfies a predetermined condition, and from the received, detected RSSI when the detected RSSI does not satisfy the predetermined condition; and transmitting a transfer signal at the specified time of transfer. Method according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: converting a signal received from a mobile station to an intermediate frequency signal, detecting both an SNR and an RSSI from the intermediate frequency signal simultaneously and independently of each other, determining the time of transmission based on the detected SNR or RSSI under a predetermined condition, and transmitting a transmission signal at the specified time of transmission. Method according to claim 2, characterized in that the time of the transfer is determined on the basis of the detected SNR when a first threshold for RSSI is below a second threshold and is determined on the basis of the detected RSSI when a first threshold for RSSI is above or is equal to the second threshold. Method according to claim 2, characterized in that the transfer time is determined by selecting the shortest of a first period determined on the basis of the detected RSSI and a second period measured on the basis of the detected SNR. Method according to claim 2, characterized in that the time of the transfer is determined from a first ratio between the time in which the detected SNR is below a third threshold and a time period for detecting SNR or from a second ratio between the time. wherein the detected RSSI is below a first threshold and a time period for detecting RSSI. Method according to claim 2, characterized in that the time of transfer is determined on the basis of all combinations of the SNR's threshold and the first ratio and of a first threshold for RSSI and the second ratio.
