Abstract

Method as well as apparatus for removal of liquid from particulate material by evaporation by supply of heat, said heat being substantially transferred by superheated vapours of the liquids present in the particulate material, the method taking place in a generally closed system. The particulate material is continually supplied to a process chamber shaped generally as a substantially horizontal annular or partly annular chamber 1, where the superheated vapours are led from beneath and upwards through apertures 11 in a bottom 10 in the annular chamber, such that the particulate material is brought into movement by the superheated vapours, and such that a transport takes place of the particulate material through the annular chamber 1. <IMAGE>
