Description
DK 180936 B1 1
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention disclosed herein generally relates to support or stand for an appliance. More particularly, the present invention relates to an adjustable hair dryer holder for holding a hair dryer/blow dryer while in use, allowing both the hands of a user free for other purposes.
BACKGROUND Hair dryer or blow dryer is a device that blows hot air over the hair of the user to dry them more quickly. More often they are used for drying and styling the hair of the users. The device typically includes an electrically resistive heating element, a fan to direct — the hot air through an air outlet or barrel, a switch, and a handle for holding the device while in use. The user holds the hair dryer by the handle and directs the barrel towards the damp hair such that that the warm air flows over it.
This mode of operation presents several drawbacks. The basic problem associated — with the use of such hair dryer is that one must hold the device with one hand all the time above their head in order to direct the air from the blow dryer into the hair. The user can become tired of holding the device for an extended period of time until their hair gets dried. Moreover, many users require the use of both hands to hold the hair dryer to achieve the desired styling. Additionally, it is difficult for persons with arm injuries and disabilities to — hold the hair dryer.
Thus, holding a blow dryer for any period is inconvenient. Also, employing both the hands of the users during the entire process is relatively complex. To avoid such problems, various wall mounting devices, stands and hair drying holders are present in the market. However, such holders are fitter therein, some do not allow adjustment of the
DK 180936 B1 2 height and directivity of the barrel. Additionally, placing of hair dryer above the table or along with other devices uses space. Alternatively, hair drying helmets are used. The hair drying helmets dry the hair — without the need for the user to hold any device for a long period of time. They include stands for supporting the hair drying bonnet over the user's head. However, the hair drying helmet is fixed in one direction. The user cannot change their direction and it is inconvenient to the users. Further, the hair drying helmet occupies more space and must be stored away after use.
A prior art, US 2019/0313760 A1 of Lapoint Jean, discloses a hair dryer holder for holding a hand-held hair dryer, comprising: an elongated rigid arm configured to be mounted to a surface, wherein the elongated rigid arm comprises a proximal extremity having a lower mounting member and a distal extremity having an upper mounting member and a holder member configured to be adjustably secured to the elongated rigid arm and has a receiving hole with a slot extending vertically through the receiving hole-depth, wherein the receiving hole is dimensioned to receive a handle of a hair dryer and hold it securely in place. However, above-mentioned prior art fails to disclose a holder comprising a mounting bracket attached to the elongated rigid arm and capable of being mounted to a surface wherein the mounting bracket comprises a base having a first arm extending vertically from one end and a second arm extending vertically from another end. In light of all the above-mentioned drawbacks, there is a need for a hair dryer holder that holds the hair dryer while in use, letting the user’s hand free for other purposes. — Also, there is a need for a wall-mounted adjustable holder for positioning the hair dryer holder at varying heights and operated in any desired direction.

DK 180936 B1
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Referring to FIG. 1, a perspective view of an appliance holder or hair dryer holder 100 for holding a hand-held appliance, according to one embodiment of the present 5 invention. In one embodiment, the appliance is a hand-held hair dryer 150 (as shown in FIG. 4). In one embodiment, the hair dryer holder 100 is a surface-mounted adjustable support stand for hand-held appliances such as hair dryer. The hair dryer holder 100 could be securely and detachably mounted to a surface 140. In one embodiment, the surface 140 is a substantially vertical wall. The hair dryer holder 100 is configured to support and hold the commercially available blow dryers in a multitude of positions adjacent to the user's head to free the user's hands for other purposes. Referring to FIGs. 2 and 3, a left side view and a right-side view of the hair dryer holder 100, according to one embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, the hair dryer holder 100 comprises an elongated rigid arm 102 configured to mount to the surface 140. In one embodiment, the surface 140 is a substantially vertical wall. In one embodiment, the elongated rigid arm 102 comprises a proximal extremity 104 having a lower mounting member 108 and a distal extremity 106 having an upper mounting member
110. In one embodiment, the elongated rigid arm 102 further comprises a center mounting member 112 attached to its surface, thereby making it to extend horizontally from the mid- point of the elongated rigid arm 102. In one embodiment, the elongated rigid arm 102 further comprises one or more through-holes 124. In one embodiment, the hair dryer holder 100 further comprises a mounting bracket
114. The mounting bracket 114 comprises a base 116 having a first arm 118 and a second arm. In one embodiment, the first arm 118 extends perpendicular to one end of the base 116, whereas the second arm 120 extends perpendicular to another end. In one embodiment, the base 116 and the first arm 118 comprise one or more mounting holes 122 configured to mount the holder 100 to the surface 140. In one embodiment, the mounting bracket 114 is attached to the elongated rigid arm 102 via second arm 120 using fasteners.
DK 180936 B1 6 The second arm has two ends include a first end and a second end. The first end is proximal to the base 116. In one embodiment, the first end of the second arm 120 is attached to the upper mounting member 110 at the distal extremity 106, whereas the second end is attached to the center mounting member 112. In one embodiment, the fasteners could be, but not limited to, threaded screws, nuts, and bolts. In one embodiment, the hair dryer holder 100 further comprises a holder member
128. In one embodiment, the holder member 128 is configured to be adjustably secured to the proximal extremity 104 of the elongated rigid arm 102. In one embodiment, the one or — more through-holes 124 are configured to secure the holding member 128 to the proximal extremity 104 of the elongated rigid arm 102 using one or more fasteners 126. In one embodiment, the fasteners 126 could be threaded screws, nuts, and bolts. In one embodiment, the one or more through-holes 124 are configured to provide the hair dryer holder 100 in different heights for users of varying heights.
In one embodiment, the hair dryer holder 100 could have a scratch-resistance pad 127 at the end of each mounting member (108, 110, and 112). In one embodiment, the scratch-resistance pad 127 avoids any slippage of mounting members (108, 110, and 112) over the surface 140 during use. The scratch-resistance pad 127 avoids any scratch and undesired marks on the surface 140. Also, the scratch-resistance pad 127 acts as a felt bumper to provide balance to the hair dryer holder 100 over the surface 140 during use. Further, the scratch-resistance pad 127 provides improved noise insulation during use. In one embodiment, the scratch-resistance pad 127 could be, but not limited to, a self-adhesive round felt pad.
Referring to FIGs. 4 and 5, a perspective view of the appliance holder or hair dryer holder 100 mounted on the surface 140 holding an appliance, according to one embodiment of the present invention.
