Roll Holder
Description
Field of the Invention 5 The invention generally relates to a roll holder. The invention more particularly relates to a roll holder for a roofing material.
Background of the Invention
It is known in the roofing art to use roofing underlay when con-10 structing a roof made of tiles. The roofing underlay is normally secured to the rafters of the building prior to the fixture of laths and tiles.
Roofing underlay is normally arranged on rolls and it is very 15 challenging and dangerous to fix the roofing underlay to the rafters by a single man. Accordingly, it requires several people to fix roofing underlay to the rafters of a roof.
AU 704 627 B2 relates to a portable dispensing system suitable for in-20 termlttent mounting on a roof. The mounting takes place by mounting two mounting systems 20 to a stud 6 of the roof construction. The distance between the systems 20 is adjustable. A roll may be suspended between roller heads 18 and 19. In this dispensing system the roll is supported in both ends and therefore remains in a fixed angle in re-25 spect of the laths. AU 704 627 B2 does not disclose any means for varying the angle between the roll and the laths.
US 3 559 914 A discloses an apparatus for laying sheets on a roof structure. The apparatus comprises a framework 26 which rests on two 30 adjacent longitudinal support structure elements of the roof. The frame holds a support bar 44 on which a roll is suspended. The support bar is 2 DK 177443 B1 mounted to the framework at both of its ends. As a consequence, the roll remains In a fixed angle in respect of the longitudinal support structure elements. US 3 559 914 A does not disclose any means for varying the angle between the roll and the longitudinal support struc-5 ture elements.
Therefore, it is desirable to have a tool that makes it possible to fix roofing underlay to the rafters by a single man.
10 Object of the Invention
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a tool that makes it possible to fix roofing underlay to the rafters of a roof by a single man.
15 It is also an object of the present invention to provide a tool that can be used independent of the distance between the laths.
It is further an object to provide a tool that is easy mountable, 20 movable and configured to hold a roll of roofing material.
Summary of the Invention
The object of the present invention can be achieved by a roll holder having the features defined in claim 1 and by a use of 25 such a roll holder as claimed in claim 8.
