The present invention relates to a device for attaching an attachment or auxiliary contact to a contactor and of the kind specified in the preamble of claim 1.

The device is suitable for fixing narrow attachment or auxiliary contacts on a module on a one-piece contactor.

On a one-piece narrow contactor with four integrated main contacts, the auxiliary contacts are generally mounted by means of up to four modules, an element of 10 four modules corresponding to the full mounting surface of the contactor.

Fixing of the auxiliary contacts constituted by 1, 2 or 4 modules is carried out in known manner either directly by frontal latching or by means of pins and slides, where the element is slid parallel to the fixing surface until impact.

Fixing by means of tap and slide rail is especially used for auxiliary contacts on 2 or 4 modules, but becomes very difficult and must be done carefully when fixing a single module. In effect, this system includes two superposed units with pin and slide rail.

Such a system of upper drop and slide rail and lower drop and slide rail generally requires for a simple mounting and good mechanical retention a pin and slide rail which is unreasonable in relation to the size of the module or at least necessitates a prior frontal placement of the auxiliary contact prior to the sliding rail engagement. Accordingly, this method of fixing is used only for elements 5 of two or four modules.

The occurrence of. auxiliary contacts with at least two modules, where a contact occupies a module, constitute a major defect for the user, who must have a stock of different models, each having a different design.

For two-module auxiliary contacts, the elements must in reality be of four different types: a first type with two end contacts, a second one with an end contact and a switch contact, in the specified order, a third with a switch contact 15 and an end contact in the specified order, and a fourth with two switch contacts.
