Abstract
The method involves measuring a space or a room with a distance measuring device arranged in the space or room and determining the distance between the walls in different spatial directions. A virtual 3D model of the room is then produced in a computer. An extinguishing area (11) is defined in the 3D model. At least one activation criterium for the extinguishing system is determined. The start point for an extinguisher line (28) is also determined. The locations of extinguisher jets or nozzles (27) are determined by the computer. According to the criteria, the extinguisher configuration is automatically constructed in the 3D model to provide a 3D model of the extinguisher line configuration. Independent claims also cover an apparatus for carrying out the method.
