Abstract

The system has one or more fuel cell blocks (16) in which chemical energy is converted into electrical energy for output to a load (14), an auxiliary energy source (44) that provides auxiliary energy for starting the system and a switch (40) with which the system can be changed over from taking energy from the auxiliary system to outputting energy from a fuel cell block. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a method of setting to work/taking out of service a fuel cell system.
