Abstract

The invention relates to a method for carrying out the in-situ conditioning of water, in particular, groundwater contaminated with halogenated hydrocarbons, especially with chlorinated hydrocarbons (CKW). According to the invention, elemental metal granulates or mixtures thereof mixed with one or more organic materials containing carbon are added to the water. The method enables and stimulates the subsequent biotic or abiotic degradation.
