Abstract

A method for the packaging of goods in film or foil material in cartons, in which the film or the foil is fed to a position above the empty carton by means of a feed mechanism, cut to a predetermined length and released from the feed mechanism, following which the goods drop down on to the film or the foil and draw this down with them into the carton. An apparatus is also described for feeding and dividing up the film or foil, the device comprising a feed mechanism, a cutter device and a support frame for these, in which the feed mechanism comprises friction-coated feeders 3, designed to be moved along and to press the film or foil 1 against smooth surfaces 2, which are designed to support the lateral edges of the film through the friction contact and feeding of the film. <IMAGE>
