Abstract

The pump impeller (2) is driven by a motor (1) which is located with it's starting circuit (5) within a watertight envelope (3). The motor is started initially on reduced voltage then full voltage and is protected by two temperature sensors (6,7). The first sensor (6) opens the motor circuit at a first threshold and permits reclosure when the temperature falls. The second (7) at a higher threshold opens the circuit permanently pending manual intervention.
