Abstract
A suction well 1 is described with a foot valve 2, which is designed for placing in the suction well in a car wash system. The foot valve 2 is connected by way of a suction line 5 to a non self-priming pump. The foot valve contains a non-return valve 12, which is located below the liquid level 3 of the suction well. In order to facilitate servicing from the top of the well, so that there is no need to empty the suction well in the event of servicing, the suction valve 2 is fitted so that the top of a housing 11 is situated above the liquid level 3. The housing 11 is provided with a tightly sealed cover, which is fitted to the housing 11 by way of a closure fitting 16. The closure fitting 16 has operating elements 25, 37, which can be operated from the top of the well in order to open and close the cover 14. The non-return valve 12 is designed as a detachable unit, which can be removed from the housing 11 when a hook is made to engage in a ring 21, which forms part of the non- return valve unit 12. <IMAGE>
