Abstract

The mains power plug of an item of electrical equipment is used with a guide element (2) that fits into the wall socket (3). The guide element has a pair of features (9) that fit into grooves (10) in the socket and also engages earthing contacts (8). The element has an internal guide slot, that is used to receive the main body of the plug with the pins projecting to fit in the socket.
