Abstract

A surface mounting grid e.g. for a drainage duct, manhole cover, ventilation shaft etc. is fitted into a support frame (3) and is held in the frame by a spring loaded grip. The side of the support frame has a stamped tag (33) which is shaped to form a retaining grip, with a vertical grip edge (331). The tag is shaped to grip a profiled edge of the grid (1) and to secure the grid without the need of separate fasteners. The outer edge of the support frame is formed by a bent over double skin, with the retaining tags stamped into the inner skin.
