Abstract

The invention relates to a mobile compost container (1) in closed container form (parallelepipedal form) having at least one loading hatch (2) in the roof of the compost container (1), the loading hatch (2) being attached to a framework (3) which is pivotably mounted on the compost container (1) in hinge joints (4), and also having a pivoting device which is rotatably mounted externally on one side wall (5) of the compost container (1) and acts on the loading hatch (2) and which is intended for opening and keeping open the loading hatch (2) in the closed position. To improve a hitherto known compost container so that the disadvantages associated therewith are largely eliminated, it is proposed that the pivoting device and the actuation of the clamping device be executed, physically combined, in a lifting device (6), and the lifting device (6) have an idle phase in the region of the closed position of the loading hatch (2) with respect to the closing movement of the loading hatch (2), and that in this idle phase a locking mechanism be actuable by the lifting device (6), which locking mechanism acts on in each case at least two closing projections (7, 7a) arranged on each longitudinal side of the compost container (1) with which closing projections the loading hatch (2) can be brought to bear sealingly on the corresponding bearing faces in the roof of the compost container (1). <IMAGE>
