The invention relates to a method for cooling of bodies for the purpose of continuous heat dissipation from the same, with a Z between ■ Layer between the body to be cooled and 5 the coolant is present, at least on those Places on the surface of the body on which a cooling | medium current impinges. The intermediate layer is with the material of the body surfaces to be cooled and ί at the same time with at least one material composite, etc. nent of the impinging coolant flow artver- ; turns. This material component belongs to equal-I present a group of materials that have good thermal conductivity.
Für das Kühlmittel sind Einrichtungen vorhanden, die dasselbe in einem kontinuierlichen Strom auf die Zwischenschicht der zu kühlenden Körperflächen leiten und dort insbesondere jene Materialkomponente desIn the device for carrying out the cooling method according to the present invention, the surface of the body to be cooled is covered, at least in places, with an intermediate layer, which extends into all pores and unevenness of the surfaces to be cooled while avoiding any separating layer that would impair heat conduction creates good thermal contact between them and the coolant. For this purpose, the intermediate layer consists of a material that is similar to that of the body surfaces to be cooled and ; at least one material component of the coolant is related. Devices are available for the coolant which direct the same in a continuous stream to the intermediate layer of the body surfaces to be cooled and there in particular that material component of the

Coolant used in the interlayer material is related, bring into close contact with the same. This is what causes this material component of the coolant, due to its belonging to a group of materials with good thermal conductivity, especially the heat dissipation from the exposed body surfaces.
Auf den mannigfachsten Gebieten der TechnikIn the most varied areas of technology
. : ίο the problem arises of cooling down hot bodies during operation. The bodies can be flat structures, wires, nozzles, etc. . :
In allen diesen
It is known that the efficiency of numerous devices and apparatuses depends on the maximum permissible working temperature of certain parts. Main only think of the anode of electron tubes, nozzles, wires of temperature radiators, etc., for example. In all of these cases, the task is to dissipate the currently occurring large amounts of heat as quickly as possible so that the material of which the body in question is not overloaded does not occur. Attempts have already been made to dissipate heat from small areas with vaporizable particles in a gas stream, as well as with liquids of a metallic nature; However, none of these processes led to the desired success, since it was not possible to establish a correspondingly close contact for heat transfer between the coolant and the surface to be cooled. All these cooling methods known today therefore do not allow a momentary dissipation of heat, so that, as already indicated at the beginning, in very many cases it is necessary to work with lower degrees of efficiency, ie lower temperature load on the body. The reason why today's common cooling methods fail can be seen below:
All the gaseous or liquid coolants known to date are poor heat conductors, and it is therefore inevitable that the heat accumulates on the surface to be cooled at the transition point to the coolant. This accumulation of heat can be intensified with flowing coolants if, after absorbing thermal energy, they remain in the area to be cooled for a while, for example due to the formation of eddies. The heat transfer from a surface to be cooled to the coolant is also very imperfect.
Bei Erwärmung der Kühlfläche dehnt sich die Luft in den Zwischenräumen erheb-No matter how good mechanical processing or chemical treatment, every solid layer has a rough and uneven surface. These bumps cause. the previous cooling the remaining air gaps and thus gaps and joints between the surface to be cooled and coolant. When the cooling surface is heated, the air in the spaces expands considerably.
Dazu kommt noch, diaß eine Oxydschicht, eine unvermeidliche Wasserhaut oder VerunTeiniigungsschichten, .die bekanntlich auch durch lang andauerndes Erhitzen nicht 'entfernbar sind, ihrerseits eine Trennschicht bilden, die dem Wärmeübergang hinderlich . ist.. borrowed and prevented one in many places direct intimate contact of the coolant with the surface to be 'cooled and thus a perfect one Heat transfer to the coolant. In addition, there is an oxide layer, an inevitable one Water skin or layers of pollution, which are known to be caused by long-lasting Heating not 'removable, in turn form a separating layer that hinders the transfer of heat . is.
Even in those cases where it is possible to create such undesirable separation layers between those to be cooled To remove surfaces of a body and the coolant and to avoid them during operation, the efficiency of the cooling by the usual methods is unsatisfactory. This is stirring especially from the mostly poor thermal conductivity of the previously used liquid coolants and gaseous aggregate state.
The cooling method according to the invention eliminates these two deficiencies of the previous cooling of bodies by means of liquid or gaseous coolants. On the one hand, the body to be cooled is provided with an intermediate layer, at least at those surface points where the coolant flow impinges, which promotes the transport of heat from the body tissues to be cooled, for which purpose it consists of a material that is identical to that of the body to be cooled Is related to surfaces. The coolant effecting the cooling also has at least one material component which is related to the intermediate layer and at the same time has good thermal conductivity.
In a preferred embodiment of the method, the coolant causing the cooling contains at least one material component of good thermal conductivity which has a molecular weight that is approximately the same as the molecular weight of the material from which the intermediate layer is made. Furthermore, in a further exemplary embodiment, the material component of good thermal conductivity added to the coolant can be identical to the material from which the intermediate layer is made, so that the same is constantly being recreated and reproduced.
: The device for carrying out the process is designed so that a continuous flow of coolant strikes the body surfaces to be cooled, which are provided with an intermediate layer, and in particular its material component of valid thermal conductivity is brought into close contact with the intermediate layer, which is particularly effective Heat dissipation results.
An example embodiment of the device for performing the method consists of a electric discharge tube or its anode. In the present example, the anode consists of Gold, and a stream of coolant is fed to it, which consists at least in part of mercury. The mercury is fed to the point of the gold layer to be cooled and penetrates the surface of the Gold layer with amalgam formation and forms a new surface from liquid mercury. In order to creates an intimate connection between the anode material, i.e. the gold plate, and the Mercury, which is completely free of congestion. Heat transfer permitted. Any separating layers As mentioned at the beginning, there is no longer any heat build-up due to

schlossene Luftblasen oder Oberflächenungenauiigkeirten ist ausgeschlossen.closed air bubbles or surface imperfections is excluded.
Because the mercury has practically the same molecular weight just like gold, heat can also be given off completely.
An additional flow of coolant, for example water, is also supplied. which in turn now withdraws the absorbed heat from the mercury and thus the immediate heat ίο Enables reuse of the mercury for cooling purposes.

So strom 4.An example illustration of the principle of the Küblververfahren according to the present invention FIG. 1 shows schematically and on a greatly enlarged scale. The body surface 1 to be cooled is reproduced in 'cross section and: has an inevitable unevenness afflicted boundary surface 2, on which an intermediate layer 3 is provided. There is a flow of coolant against this intermediate layer 4, the flow direction of which is indicated by arrows 5 and 6. Has the body area 1 a higher temperature than the coolant flow 4, a temperature arises in the body 1, its Direction (from higher to lower temperature) is indicated by the arrows 7. The energy transporter, in common parlance also called »heat flow«, also takes place in the direction the arrows 7, so from the hotter body surface ι to the intermediate layer 3 and the coolant So electricity 4.
It is a known fact that a body surface ι or its interface 2 only with great difficulty and significant technical effort can be made completely pure from Eremdsuhstanzen. But it is completely impossible to have one to maintain such cleaned interface 2 for a long time in this state, in particular if it is the area of the body to be cooled of a part of the apparatus that is very hot during operation.
However, there is one to be cooled during this operation Body area ι a more or less increased
■: coherent covering of any foreign substances on its interface 2, let it be that these foreign substances are made up of chemical compounds between the material of the body surface 1 and the gaseous or liquid environment are formed from adsorbed gaseous or liquid If there are particles, such a covering provides for the passage of heat from the body surface 1 to the coolant 4 represents a separating layer and causes undesirable heat build-up that the Can severely impair the efficiency of the cooling. This disadvantageous mode of action such Trennschichrten is based on the disordered structure of such coverings, which are usually porous or Represent spongy structures and poor thermal conductivity or considerable heat build-up can result, even if the layer thickness is small.
According to the invention, the formation of any undesirable separating layers is prevented, by applying an intermediate layer 3 to the interface 2 of the body surface 1 to be cooled in such a way that the presence of even minimal amounts of foreign substances at the interface 2 and within the intermediate layer 3 is safely avoided. Such Intermediate layers can, depending on the type of material of the body surface 1 and that of the intermediate layer 3 can be produced by various known methods, in particular by vapor deposition in a vacuum, through cathode sputtering, adsorption, absorption, diffusion, also by means of Electrolysis and electrochemical processes as well as chemical methods, by baking, Surface treatment by means of molten substances and by rubbing.
The material of which the intermediate layer 3 is made must be related to the material of the body surface to be cooled 1. The mark In the context of the present invention, "related" is intended to denote a material that apply to the body surface 1 present in each case in the form of a relatively thin intermediate layer leaves that adheres strongly to the interface 2, possibly forming a mixed body there, that is stable at the operating temperatures of the body surface 1 and permanently has good thermal conductivity so that the heat flow in the direction of the arrow 7 can pass from the body surface 1 into the intermediate layer 3 without noticeable heat build-up at the interface 2.
Der Kühlmittelstrom 4 kann dabei, Materialkomponenten festen, flüssigen und gasförmigen Aggregat-ζuStandes umfassen, muß aber mindestens eine Materialkomponente enthalten (in Fig. 1 durch 8 angedeutet), die »artverwandt« mit dem Material der Zwischenschicht 3 ist, eine gute Wärmeleitfähigkeit besitzt und während, der Berührungsdauer ihrer einzelnen Partikel 8 mit der Zwischenschicht 3 eineThe heat is dissipated from the intermediate layer 3 by means of a coolant flow impinging on it 4, which either, as indicated schematically in FIG. 1 by particles of different sizes, can consist of different material components or of a uniform material. The coolant flow 4 can, material components solid, liquid and gaseous aggregate-ζuStandes include, but must contain at least one material component (indicated by 8 in Fig. 1), which is "related" to the material of the intermediate layer 3, good thermal conductivity has and during the contact time of their individual particles 8 with the intermediate layer 3 a

Durch das Vorhandensein einer solchen Materialkornponente mit guter Wärmeleitfähigkeit wird dieCan absorb the largest possible amount of heat and thus dissipate it from the intermediate layer 3. Due to the presence of such a material component with good thermal conductivity, the
The cooling effect is significantly increased, which is easy It can be seen that the so-called thermal conductivity coefficient from Waissar, for example, by about the factor 23 is better than that of air and the coefficient of thermal conductivity of silver by a factor of 700 again to be better than. is that of water. Even a relatively small volume fraction of a material component with good thermal conductivity, ■ for example a metal, in buckets of liquid coolant, for example water, the heat dissipation through the coolant can thus be quite 'decisive improve. Such composite coolants can be produced in a large number of variants and depending on the intended use with different large cooling efficiency can be used.
Some exemplary implementations are given below, but a large number are wider Variants according to the present invention are possible.
A material component with good thermal conductivity can be entrained by a liquid as a finely divided substance and solid aggregate be used with this as a coolant. This can be a suspension or a slurry the solid substance in the liquid or a more or less pronounced one Colloidal solution of known manufacturing method, especially around diispersoild colloids. Such Coolants are, for example, suspensions of metal powder in suitable liquids, such Finely divided solid substance with good thermal conductivity can also be carried along by a gas stream and used in this form as a coolant , whereby the pair sizes in certain relatively narrow limits can be kept.
In the case of a coolant with at least one material component solid aggregate state in one Liquid or gas flow as the carrier means this material component can constantly be added to the carrier means mixed in with the same volume ratio be .. it. however, there is also the possibility of this solid material component in the coolant only ■ immediately before it hits the one to be cooled To create an intermediate layer, for example by placing two liquids and two gas flows there or each a liquid, and a gas flow itself mix and the solid substance arises as a chemical reaction product in fine distribution.
Such a production of the solid material component can in a similar way also by a Reaction of more than two components of the coolant respectively.
A material component with good thermal conductivity can also be liquid as a finely divided substance The state of aggregation is carried along by a liquid and can thus be used as a coolant. The material component of good thermal conductivity forms miit of the liquid, in the case of immiscible liquids, a suspension or a colloidal mixture.
Such a liquid material component of good thermal conductivity can also be used as an aerosol or Mist are entrained by a gas flow and thus form a coolant flow.
In the case of a liquid material component with good thermal conductivity, carried along by a liquid or gas stream, this material component can also be generated either in such a way that it is constantly present in a constant concentration in the liquid or gaseous coolant or only immediately before it impacts the intermediate layer to be cooled is formed. In the latter case either mixed two liquids, two gas streams or between a liquid and a gas 1 in a suitable manner and the liquid Materialpomponente generated by the chemical reaction. Of course, more than two liquid or gaseous components can also be involved in the formation process.
Finally, vaporous material components with good thermal conductivity can also be used in one Liquid or in a gas stream as a coolant use, the same either in constantly kept constant concentration in the liquid or in the gas flow or but only immediately before the impact of this coolant on the intermediate layer to be cooled in the same to be made. The generation can again be through several liquid or gaseous components and their reaction '.
The proportion of the highly conductive ■ material component in the coolant depends on the amount of heat to be dissipated, the temperature of the intermediate layer to be cooled and the coolant, the flow velocity and the amount of coolant supplied, as well as the thermal properties of the various materials involved possibility of the concentration of the highly conductive Materialkorri - 105 component in the coolant by hand or automatically to regulate, and depending upon the ■ operating conditions, such as temperature to be cooled Körperflädhe or discharged from the refrigerant amount of heat.
In solchen Fällen, wo es die Gestaltung der zu; kühlenden Fläche zuläßt, kann der ganze Außenraum außerhalb der Zwischenschicht 3 (in Fig. 1In the case of the "heat dissipation from" the intermediate layer 3 through the coolant flow 4 or primarily through its highly conductive material component, it is important that a separating layer of foreign substances cannot under any circumstances form where the cooling ball 4 strikes the intermediate layer 3 For this purpose, the components of liquid or gaseous units contained in the coolant flow in addition to the highly conductive material component are selected in such a way that they form a protective layer or a protective gas atmosphere! at least in the vicinity of the point of impact of the coolant the design of to; allows cooling surface, the whole external space may be provided outside the intermediate layer 3 (in Fig. 1

Das Quecksilber wirdThe composition of the coolant flow 4 from various materia! components, including at least one with good thermal conductivity, represents the most general case for the execution of the There is also a coolant in certain circumstances stream 4 is advantageous, which consists of a uniform material in a liquid or gaseous state of aggregation exists, which has good thermal conductivity and is related to the material of the intermediate layer 3 is. An example embodiment of the method according to the invention in this variant can be carried out using mercury as the coolant 4. The mercury will

Zwischenschicht 3 spritzt. Der gasförmige Bestandteil des Kühlmittelstrames wird dabei so ausgewählt, daß er eine Schutzgasatmosphäre in der Umgebung der Außenseite der Zwischenschicht 3 schafft..20 flows as a coolant without adding any other Material coimpomenten of the body surface to be cooled ι supplied and as an intermediate layer 3 a Amalgamsa are not used, which are located at the interface 2 ■ forms an alloy with the material of the body surface 1 to be cooled, if its material is the Mercury is related. A protective substitution for the outside of the intermediate layer can then be used 3 can be omitted if the design of the body surface 1 allows it to be longitudinal its entire extent is in a mercury bath through which the mercury stream is passed onto the intermediate layer 3. In this exemplary embodiment, however, also the coolant consist of a gas stream with a high content of Quieeksiilberineibel, which against the to be cooled body wall 1 or the amalgam. Interlayer 3 injected. The gaseous component of the coolant flow is selected so that it creates a protective gas atmosphere in the area the outside of the intermediate layer 3 creates.
■ ■ · ■For example carrying out the method according to the type of FIG. 1 is of importance that the impingement of the Kühlimittelstromes · 4 is carried out to be cooled intermediate layer 3 in certain type and 1 manner. As indicated schematically in Fig. 1, it is essential to ensure that at least the particles 8 of the highly conductive material component actually hit the outside of the intermediate layer 3 in the highest possible percentage, for which the coolant flow has a suitable cross-sectional shape and appropriate angle of inclination against the intermediate layer 3 got to. Furthermore, good heat dissipation through the coolant flow is influenced by the fact that its speed and shape removes the particles 8 of the highly conductive material component from the surface area of the intermediate layer 3 to be cooled as quickly as possible after they have touched the intermediate layer 3 and have absorbed their share of thermal energy. in order not to disturb the influx of further particles 8 by lingering too long. ■ ■ · ■
Mainly due to the highly conductive material components The amount of heat dissipated by the coolant can be withdrawn from the coolant flow again are by a cooling system of known type, preferably by adding a secondary Coolant, or any other suitable method. In this case there is the possibility of the primary To continuously reuse coolant in a circuit. Depending on the type of composition of the coolant from various material components solid, liquid and gaseous aggregate state is the involvement of means required for separate recovery of the individual components in the unmixed state.
A preferred variant of the cooling method according to the present invention uses a coolant with at least one material component that has good thermal conductivity, their particles in their molecular weight the molecular weight of the intermediate layer and 'des Material approximately equal to the body surface to be cooled. In this case there is the transfer of heat energy from the intermediate layer to the individual particles of the highly conductive material component the coolant is particularly cheap, so the cooling effect is particularly great.
It is very advantageous in the case of various examples Embodiments of the present cooling method include such a choice of intermediate layer and highly conductive material component of the coolant, that the intermediate layer of the well-conductive Material component is generated or at least continuously reproduced in operation.
These last two features of the cooling process are realized in the already 'explained embodiment with mercury as a coolant, when the body surface to be cooled consists of a metal that interacts with mercury Amalgam forms. There is both an approximate equality of the molecular weights and also the constant regeneration of the amalgam intermediate layer due to the highly conductive material component of the coolant achieved.
The intermediate layer 14 is exemplified in this The embodiment according to FIG. 2 is generated and used in the same way as already with reference to Fig. Ι described. In addition, the intermediate layer 14 also needs here, however, if the cooling ' medium is a uniform liquid or a liquid consisting of several material components, is not directly adjoin the coolant flow 13, but in contact with a film on their inside stand, which represents a continuous transition to the coolant flow 13 and from a mixture of vaporous and liquid particles of the material components of the same. Of course, the coolant can also be finely divided material components in a solid aggregate state contained in the transition film from the intermediate layer to the coolant flow Maintain physical state or become a mist of liquid particles.
Belastbarkeit. The exemplary embodiment of the method shown schematically in FIG. 2 is not only present in tubular structures with internal cooling, but also frequently in solid bodies, preferably those made of metal, which have bores in which the coolant can circulate. An example device for carrying out the method according to the present invention is described below, namely an electrical one. Discharge tube, especially an X-ray tube. It is known that for a whole series of radiological applications there is a need to increase the energy radiation compared to the level previously achieved. However, this also means that the load-bearing capacity of the X-ray anode per mm 2 of focal spot area must be greatly increased. This load-bearing capacity has hitherto been limited because the heat generated and accumulated in the focal point results in a steady rise in the temperature of the anode. The melting point of the anode material sets a limit to the resilience of the tube and thus to the radiation emission. So the problem is essentially a question of cooling. If it is possible to dissipate the heat that occurs in sufficient quantity and sufficiently quickly, then the heat rises. Resilience.
In the discharge tubes known today, a tungsten plate at least 1 mm thick is used as the anode intended. This anode layer is used to create sufficient vacuum tightness melted a copper layer at least 1 cm thick. In the case of the currently occurring in the focal point high heat builds up the heat in the poorly conductive tungsten anode, whereby the Stowage is increased by molecular cracks in the brittle tungsten sintered metal. At the At the transition point from tungsten to copper, there is a further build-up of heat, and only after it has been overcome this second obstacle can heat the A through the thick copper layer to the cooling surface arrive and be discharged. The heat conduction from the focal point to the cooling surface needs a considerable period of time, which is still considerably increased by the heat build-up, so that In the case of brief high loads, heat is dissipated with the coolant practically at all cannot occur. But there are also some other basic properties of the previous X-ray tubes that impair the cooling. First of all, the solid layer also has at still so good mechanical processing or chemical Treatment of a rough and uneven surface, the disadvantages of which have already been outlined. In addition, there is an oxide layer, an inevitable skin of water or layers of pollution, which are known to be caused by long-lasting Heating cannot be removed, in turn forming a separating layer that prevents heat transfer is a hindrance.
In an exemplary embodiment, an X-ray tube which does not have these disadvantages is described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 7. In the schematic representation of the cooling principle in FIG. 3, i a denotes the focal spot that arises on the thin gold layer 1. On the never completely smooth and flat rear side 2 of this gold layer, the supply of mercury to the rear side 2 forms a thin coherent amalgam layer 3 of the molecularly diffused coolant with a fine surface layer of mercury. Layers 1 and 3 form a unit. The plate 1 can therefore give off the heat to the coolant of the same molecular weight, which is molecularly connected to it, without a separation layer. The coolant flow 4, which in turn forms a unit free of a separation layer with the surface, is expediently fed through a duct 15 into which a spiral 16 is inserted so that the coolant flow is set in rotation. This coolant flow 4 impinges on the layer 3 and immediately dissipates the heat from the cooling area by convection. The cooling medium flow 4, which is discharged after the first collision with the cooled surface, is now fed to a stationary or flowing, different type of coolant 17, for example water, immediately after leaving the cooling area, where it transfers the stored heat to it away. This means that the actual coolant flow, i.e. the mercury, has recently become usable.
Die Anode 18 ist in einem4 shows the schematic structure of an X-ray tube. The anode 18 is in one

Cathode 23 has a filament 24 which is in the the rest is constructed in a known manner. The cathode is closed with a filter 25.
The radiation exit window 26 is mounted on corresponding supports 27 above the cathode and a diaphragm 28 upstream. The radiation protection screen 29 rests on the glass cylinder 22, the possibly also contain a filter. The power supply is carried out in a known manner.
In Fig. 5, the more detailed structure of the anode and its cooling device is shown. The anode 18 sits, as mentioned, on a copper ring 19 and has a hollow cone shape with various shoulders 30, 31 on. On the anode that is in this. Example is made of gold, hit the emitted Electrons emerging from the filament 24 on. The cooling device now consists of one Hollow cylinder 32 and has a number of superposed, intercommunicating annular Chambers 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38 and 39. These annular chambers is about the Line 40 supplied mercury. This comes from each chamber via the one already mentioned in the Feed line provided spiral 16 on the back of the anode. There the coolant collides with the Direction of arrow 41 on the back of the anode and removes the heat from the anode. Over the line 42 is another coolant, such as water, via the annular cavity 43 and also passes through corresponding openings 44 into the anode surrounding optionally subdivided by partition walls 45 cavities. However, this coolant flow is thereby below the mercury flow of the anode, so that only the mercury in comes into direct contact with the anode. The mercury flowing off then mixes with it the water and gives off its heat to the water. Water and mercury come together into the nozzle 46, which is designed as a collecting container. Here is a U-tube 47, which In the lower part of the nozzle 46 accumulating mercury is discharged while the water is over the line 48 is diverted.
In Fig. 7 it is now also shown how, for example, with a double pump designed in a known manner the coolant circulation can be provided. In a container 49 containing a filter 50, the cooling water is supplied via line 51. The cooling water inflow is in be ^ In a known manner by a float 52 which controls the inflow shut-off means 53, regulated. The superfluous Water is discharged via line 54.
From the container 49, the water passes through the line 55 to the double pump body 56, where it is pumped into the anode system by means of the rotating drum 57 via the line 58.
In the second pump is driven by the drum seated on the same axis 59 as drum 57 60 of the mercury circulation worried. The mercury also enters the cooling system via line 61, is separated from the water in the separator 62 and cooled via the line 63 of the Pump fed back in. The water that now removes all of the heat is passed through the pipe 64 derived or, if necessary, reused after cooling.
The shown schematic structure of the X-ray tube is of course only one of many Possibilities. For example, the anode could also be made of a different material or consist of several layers of different materials and have some other shape and the supply of the two coolants, possibly also only one, to the anode material coordinated coolant, as well as the structure of the cooling unit itself could be in any in another suitable manner. The coolant or coolants could be caused by gas pressure are fed. Essential for the invention is the jam-free, direct discharge of the heat generated by the electroderibombardment.
The cooling method according to the present invention is by no means limited to the examples described Limited versions, but includes all those versions in which a The intermediate layer between the body surface to be cooled and the coolant creates thermal contact, wherein at least one material component of the coolant has good thermal conductivity, predominantly causes the heat dissipation and is related to the intermediate layer.
