Description
In rock drills, the flushing water enters the drill through a flushing head. The rinsing head has the task of creating a tight transfer of the rinsing water from the water connection hose into the axially and rotatingly moved drill. It also has to absorb the recoil of the drill and has therefore been made from hardened steel up to now. Leather or rubber sleeves are used for sealing.
The mass effect of the previously relatively heavy flushing heads not only consumes part of the usable impact energy, but also leads to heavy wear on the flushing head and the drill collar. In addition, such flushing heads are expensive.
The invention reduces these disadvantages in that the flushing head housing is made of a flexible material of light weight, e.g. rubber, which resiliently absorbs the recoil of the drill, instead of a rigid one. However, in order to keep the tensile force of the connection line directed in the radial direction away from the rubber housing, the invention provides, under certain circumstances, a light metal insert, which at the same time serves as a connection for the water line.
The section Fig. 1 and the view Fig. 2 represent an embodiment of the flushing head.
The hammer drill A is enclosed by a flushing head housing B made of flexible material. The housing is formed into a self-sealing sleeve C at both ends. A metal insert D, which is connected to the connecting pipe E, is located in the housing.
