Description
Photosensitive linen and method of making it Using a photosensitive layer, e.g. B. with photosensitive diazo compounds Coated opaque or transparent linen is already known. Such linen, especially trailing lines, but there are no intense image lines with good coverage, because you only spread relatively thin, low-concentration diazo solutions can., as opaque linen treated with concentrated diazo solutions in brilliance of image and shelf life suffers, while in the manufacture of trailing linen whose transparency is reduced.
To prevent the light-sensitive solutions from penetrating too deeply into the Linen and thus a reduction in the brilliance of the image lines and the transparency To avoid this, the linen has already been prepared with various varnish-like preparations, z. B. with Acetylcel.lu.loselacken, urea-formaldehyde resins and the like. Attempts to make such varnished linen with light-sensitive diazo compounds to sensitize, however, often failed or at least were in their application severely limited, as the layers of paint on the partially greasy-looking Substances finished linen had too little adhesive power, or because on the other hand well-adhering coatings were not suitable for sensitization in the brushing process, because Such lacquer coatings are too little receptive to the watery or organically dissolved, light-sensitive preparations were.
Vergleichsbeispiel i. It has now been found that they are highly light-sensitive and uniform Prepared linen that produces blueprints in both opaque and transparent colors Form can be obtained in such a way that the linen can be first of all with a very thin Layer of polyamide mixed condensation products, preferably those of adipic acid Hexamethylenediamine, a-caprolactam and a diaurin (e.g. commercial product Ultramid i C, WZ.) in an application thickness of the layer of about 2 to 7 g per m2, preferably from 2 to 5 g per n12, and the linen treated in this way in the usual way prepared by brushing with light-sensitive solutions. It turned out surprisingly has shown that the extremely thin polyamide layers mentioned have a high adhesive strength without the linen covered with them, despite the thin layer those for the subsequent application of the photosensitive. Preparation required and forfeit favorable properties. On the other hand, it has been found in further experiments that when applying normal thick polyamide layers, z. B. from 10 to 20 g per m2, the Adhesion of the layers is insufficient because the film formed is peeled off from the base could be. The specified maximum limit of the application thickness of 7 g per m2 is i.e. due to the special properties of the polyamide layers, which have not been sufficiently taken into account so far, on the other hand, due to their good absorption capacity for the light-sensitive preparations justified. Comparative example i. One wears ordinary, commercially available trailing linen a q.o / aige solution of Ultramid i C, WZ. dissolved in 6o parts of methanol, 2o parts Methyl glycol and 2o parts of water by one of the usual methods so that after drying the amount of solid substance is about 3 to 5 g per m2, depending on the application process used. The photosensitive layer is then applied to this layer Diazo solution, which can be aqueous, or certain additions of organic solvents, such as B. Isopropanol contain. can, brushed on and dried.
The thin polyamide layer adheres very well to the linen mat fixed; it cannot be removed. Even so, it has a sufficient amount of light-sensitive properties Substance added, so that a high contrast effect and high opacity of the Lines is reached without the preparation penetrating the trailing linen pad is.
If one takes an i2% solution instead of the q.o / o solution, in this way, application thicknesses of about 15 to 20 g of solid substance are obtained. These layers are very easy to pull off the traction line because they look greasy on the Pad does not adhere sufficiently. By adding resin to the polyamide layers, preferably Urea formaldehyde condensation products, polyvinyl acetates, acetals and Ethyl cellulose can improve the adhesive strength of the layer on the base as well as the absorption capacity for the light-sensitive solutions can be varied.
The linen can also be applied prior to application of the polyamide layers, for example to increase the water resistance, on the side not to be sensitized with other resins, synthetic resins or plastics.
In the past, films made of polyamide were used to produce light-sensitive films Layers used, but these were only the simple condensation products, So either those made of hexamethylenediamine (or tetramine) and adipic acid or from a-caprolactam. On the other hand, mixed condensates have not yet been used from one Mixture of the two polyamides mentioned, optionally with the addition of diamines, exist. Also, these polyamides have only been proposed in the form of films, not for covers on trailing lines.
Compared to the abovementioned polyamides, they show according to the invention used polyamide co-condensation products for the purpose of the invention, so at Their use as a cover for trailing lines has considerable advantages, since they are used for Pausing linen required transparency as well as an increased absorption capacity for watery Show solutions. In contrast to those proposed for the production of foils simple condensation products are a factor in the preparations according to the invention Water absorption without noticeable change in shape, without cracking and water breakage themselves. One can therefore use a trailing linen treated according to the invention in aqueous solutions raise awareness without adverse consequences. Also modified according to the invention Prepared trailing linen can subsequently change its dimensions even when exposed to moisture not.
