Description
AUSGEGEBEN AM 20. OKTOBER 1960ISSUED OCTOBER 20, 1960

Most known warfare agents can be hydrolyzed by water. Little or non-harmful hydrolysis products. However, since the solubility of the known warfare agents in water in the is generally very low, the detoxification of warfare agents by hydrolysis has not been practical up to now feasible.
An example of detoxification based on hydrolysis is the treatment with warfare agents contaminated objects with soap solutions, chlorine-lime solutions, etc. The hydrolysis takes place in very slowly in all cases.
There is also a protective agent against dichlorodiethyl sulfide in the form of an ointment known in which Fatty and / or resin acid soaps of bivalent or trivalent metals, individually or in a mixture with one another, without Addition of an ointment base in the form of a coherent coating can be used. The usage such protective layers covering the object to be protected is for many purposes not suitable.
Dabei können Aminophenole, aromatische Aminoaldehyde, Aminoketone und auch Aminosäuren verwendet werden, die Oxygruppen oder SulfogruppenFurthermore, methods for rendering warfare agents harmless are known, in which these by chemical conversion into non-irritating compounds with the help of organic substances will. Aminophenols, aromatic amino aldehydes, aminoketones and also amino acids can be used are used, the oxy groups or sulfo groups

These agents have the disadvantage that the warfare agents come into intimate contact with them must be brought.
The invention seeks to avoid the disadvantages of the known detoxification processes. The invention is based on the well-known detoxification by hydrolysis. The invention consists in that the warfare agents are associated with hydrotropes. This results in-the ίο advantage that the warfare agents dissolved very quickly and therefore also hydrolyzed very quickly and thus be rendered harmless. Hydrotropic solutions are e.g. B. the aqueous solutions of alkali or Alkaline earth salts of certain organic acids, for example salicylic acid, oxalic acid, in particular of the sulfonic acids of toluene and xylene. It has surprisingly been found that the hydrotropic Solutions also solve the poorly soluble warfare agents relatively easily. after the ao warfare agents are brought into solution by such hydrotropic substances, they become proportionate through hydrolysis quickly detoxified.
The alkali metal salts of aromatic sulfonic acids are advantageously used as hydrotropes. As an example of warfare agents detoxifying solution a 30 ° / O solution is used by xylolsulfosaurem sodium, can solve Lost substantial amounts. The solution hydrolyzes within a relatively short and also predictable time, so that a complete detoxification can be carried out.
So-called nerve toxins, which belong to the group of phosphoric acid esters, can also act in the same way belong to be detoxified.
The method according to the invention is suitable for detoxifying objects of all kinds hydrotropic solutions suits, but also objects, living spaces, buildings etc. can be detoxified. That The method according to the invention is also suitable for the production of reticent warfare agents Filter. The effect of this filter is based on the fact that the warfare agent to be removed, for example in the air is contained, is retained by the filter when the air is forced through it. as Filter materials can be used, for example, sand or advantageously those materials that have a large active surface, e.g. B. activated carbon, silica gel or the like.
The method according to the invention can be used for filtering gases containing warfare agents in this way be used that deposited on the filter media retaining the warfare agents hydrotropic substances will. For example, a sand filter or an activated carbon filter with a hydr.otropic Load fabric. Such a filter is then capable of more warfare agents, e.g. B. Lost, to be included as a Filter not loaded with hydrotropes. A filter loaded with hydrotropes keeps out of the sucked through air, in addition to the warfare agent, also water vapor. It forms on the filter mass a hydrotropic solution that dissolves the retained warfare agent relatively well and quickly decomposed. As a result, the filter is able to absorb a larger amount of warfare agent, as the Decomposition products of the hydrolyzed warfare agent put less strain on the filter. The filter material can be prepared in such a way that the warfare agent-retaining filter material with hydrotropic solutions is soaked. Furthermore, filter media soaked in this way can be dried, for example by heating.
A filter material that is particularly easy and cheap to manufacture, which detoxifies the bound warfare agents, is formed by sand loaded with hydrotropes. In general you can think of it assume that the adsorption power of the sand for the warfare agent is less than the solubility of the Warfare agent in the water clinging to the sand. The sand can, for example, with a hydrotropic Solution to be soaked to saturation, whereupon you then the sand down to a water content dries down from ι to 2%. Such a sand filter is suitable for a relatively large amount To absorb and detoxify warfare agents.
