Unabhängigkeit der Zündspannung von derThe invention relates to a glow discharge tube having an anode, a cathode and a
between the two arranged ignition electrodes, which are essentially flat and flat
and faces a similarly shaped cathode. The invention is based on the object
to keep the penetration of the anode field, which is necessary in itself, small in order to achieve a far-reaching
Independence of the ignition voltage from the
ausübt.ίο to achieve anode voltage and at the same time that
To train the system in such a way that one can work with an ignition voltage that is as constant as possible.
According to the invention it is proposed that the ignition electrode is provided with an opening,
behind which the preferably pin-shaped anode is located at a distance, and that this opening
is dimensioned so small that the anode voltage has no significant influence on the ignition process
exercises.
lange in der Entladungsbahn verbleiben undIt is already a glow tube with a flat anode, a flat cathode
and a flat and planar ignition electrode arranged between them are known.
With such an arrangement, the discharge must be between the ignition electrode and the tube wall
burn. This results in extremely unfavorable conditions, especially with regard to the
Constancy of the ignition voltage, because after the tube has been extinguished, the charge carriers are proportionate
remain in the discharge path for a long time and

einer solchen bekannten Röhre zeigt.pre-ionize them. Due to the arrangement of the electrodes, these can be removed after deletion
only to a small extent on the charge carriers in the sense of a shortening of the deionization time
act because the charge carriers are only in the edge field of the electrodes. This well-known
On the opposite side of the arrangement, an arrangement according to the invention has significantly shorter deionization times
and thus a much greater permissible switching frequency because
After erasing the tube, the charge carriers are located between the electrodes and through the
the field lying between these can be sucked off relatively quickly. But also the penetration conditions
are with regard to the independence of the ignition voltage from the anode voltage in this known device
much less favorable than with an arrangement according to the invention, such as the breakover voltage diagram
of such a known tube shows.
Next, a glow discharge tube is already known in which a pin-shaped anode of a
formed as a tube ignition electrode is surrounded, while the sheet-like cathode on the
Front side of the tubular ignition electrode at a distance from this and perpendicular to it
is arranged. With such an arrangement, the anode penetration, if the
wants to maintain the high sensitivity required of it, can hardly be kept so small,
that the ignition voltage is largely independent of the anode voltage. By that here too
unfavorable field distribution results in a relatively long deionization time.
In the figure, a tube according to the invention is shown schematically. The cathode is with 1 that
The ignition electrode is designated with 2 and the anode with 3. In the circuit shown, the
The capacitor 4 is charged from a voltage source 6 via the resistor 5. The ignition electrode 2
receives a bias voltage via the resistor 7. If now z. B. by the apparatus 8 a control pulse
is given, then a glow discharge occurs between ignition electrode 2 and cathode 1,
which can come about as a result of the discharge of the capacitor 9. This glow discharge
causes the main discharge to ignite without delay between the anode 3 and the
Cathode 1. The ignition is now dependent on the size of the actual control voltage
(of the control pulse), whereby due to the small penetration of the anode field the size of the

it is only possible to use the simple circuit arrangement according to the figure. if

it is achieved that the field lying between them for a relatively fast deionization
This distance ensures and also a change in the discharge ratios caused by the electrodes
can hardly occur due to their extensive training.
In practical operation, an arrangement in which the distance
between the anode face and the ignition electrode opening approximately equal to the distance between
