In der verlängerten Richtung der von oben herein bis zum Mittelpunkt der Glaskugel gehenden schiefen Sonnenaxe s wird das Fufsgestell von einer Axe a gleicher Richtung durchbrochen, welche sich der Führung wegen in einem Messingcylinderchen b bewegt. Beinahe unmittelbar über dem Fufsgestell dient diese Axe als Mittelpunkt einer festen, etwas elliptisch geformten Blechscheibe c, die genau horizontal liegt und deren Aufsenrand nach oben und innen abgeschrägt ist. Oberhalb dieser Scheibe nun setzt sich die genannte Hauptaxe α nicht ganz bis zu der Glaskugelöffnung fort; durch ihre Neigung zur Blechscheibe c bildet sie einen Winkel von etwa 670. An ihrem oberen Ende ist rechtwinklig zu ihr der Hebel d befestigt, welcher die cylindrische Führung e der Erdaxe / trägt. Diese verläuft parallel der verlängert gedachten Sonnenaxe und wird um dieselbe mittelst Drehung des Handgriffes g getragen, welcher innerhalb der drei Füfse des Gestelles seitlich an das Ende der hier herabgehenden Hauptaxe α befestigt ist.
