nicht nur von vorn, sondern auch von der Seite oder gar von rückwärts besprochen werden;
The subject of the invention is an entry point for microphones with large lateral, sound-permeable
appearing surfaces. A sound-permeable wall is only technically necessary on that one
Position of the microphone where the sound enters the system in order to respond to the usually present
Membrane to act. However, in many cases a microphone can be used without any major changes
occur in the playback, from other ίο directions than from the one caused by the place of objection
given is to be discussed. For example, an omnidirectional microphone
be discussed not only from the front, but also from the side or even from the back;
Cardioid microphones can be viewed from the front and the side, and
even those microphones whose frequency response is different from different directions can,
to achieve the various possible frequency responses ao, discussed from different directions
will.
der deutschen Patentschrift.814461.The extent with which the sound-permeable surface appears to the viewer is subjective for him
a measure of the possibility of discussing the microphone as from the respective direction. To the

can be discussed, provided with a gauze or a perforated sheet of such a shape that
a larger gauze surface can also be seen when viewed from the side. This is with one
Series of microphones of known design of the case. For example, there is a microphone

could also speak to the microphone from the side. This is even more pronounced with
the microphones. according to U.S. Patent 2,346,394. The same goes for the after
German patent 814461.
These caps made of gauze or perforated sheet metal, however, increase the overall length of the microphone
considerable, especially when the surfaces appearing on the side correspond to those appearing on the face
should be about the same.
According to the invention, this disadvantage is reduced or even avoided entirely that the
Walls of the whole arrangement or parts of them also apparently sound permeable there
where in reality parts of the microphone system are located behind the seemingly permeable wall
are located. Then you have the further essential advantage that there the mechanically
weak parts of the gauze or the perforated sheet metal supported by parts of the microphone system
will.
. Eine solche Anordnung zeigt die Abb. i. Das Mikrophonsystem ι ist umgeben von der Gaze 2;
. Such an arrangement is shown in Fig. I. The microphone system ι is surrounded by the gauze 2;
both parts are carried by the housing 3 and the connecting part 4. Although with the viewer
the impression is created that one has a large, sound-permeable surface from the side
One can therefore talk about the microphone well from the side, is actually a
Sound can only enter the front of the microphone system. To get the same effect
achieve without using the arrangement according to the invention, a far greater length would be necessary.
her ab.
Fig. 2 shows the corresponding arrangement in a microphone, in which the sound is dem
