High voltage generation in television picture tubes At the moment in Fe, rnsehempfängeriern
Frequently used method of generating high voltage for the picture tubes that run through
Transformation and rectification of the line check pulses is characterized,
it has been found that when the brightness control is operated, stronger
Anode voltage fluctuations occur because the internal resistance of the actual
High voltage source is relatively high. When the picture tube is completely darkened
sometimes even overturns can occur because the high voltage is at its highest,
is reached significantly above the normal operating point, while at greater
Whitening can already make an impairment of sharpness noticeable. at
electrostatically focused picture tube is an automatic screen grid control
the line end tube for adjusting the anode voltage of the picture tube.
The corresponding direct current for the screen grid control is derived from the cathode current
taken from the picture tube via a DC amplifier.
Such an expense of an additional DC amplifier can
According to the invention, however, can be avoided in that the adjustment of the image brightness
with a screen @ grid negative feedback of the line pulse output stage to change the pulse shape
of the anode current flow in the sense of constant anode high voltage of the picture tube booster voltage
is coupled.
As a result, the line pulses of the line output stage
influenced in their shape at the anode; that a nearly carrregulated high voltage
is released with the elimination of intermediate tube stages without the deflection process
is affected.
Steuergitterimpulses nahezu ohne Bedeutung.
It is well known that a voltage spike occurs when the current flows into a
Coil is interrupted. The amount of this peak eats depending on, among other things
the LC value of the coil and the current flowing through the coil. For the prescribed
The course of the line deflection process, on the other hand, is the shape of the line output stage
Control grid impulse almost irrelevant. It is only essential that the tube is at
the developing high voltage remains safely blocked.
auftreten. The level of the high voltage delivered by the kickback pulse depends
however, from the control pulse. By slightly influencing this pulse shape, you can now
the high voltage can be adequately regulated in value while such
Change has no effect on the distraction process, as it changed over time
Rise in the control pulse only changes the ouotient from the flow of current after the
Time due to which the level of the voltage peak that occurs is also determined.
These. Knowledge is used according to the invention, and it is sufficient to have a small one
To cause negative feedback change on the screen grid of the line output stage to the pulse shape
to change the anode current flow accordingly, without the person responsible for the blocking
Affecting amplitude. This type of negative feedback change occurs at the same time
the advantage that there are no repercussions in the pulse generator delivering the control pulse
appear.
auftritt. The invention will be explained in more detail using the circuit diagram. the
Line output tube i receives its control pulse at 2 and is in a known manner
connected to the flyback transformer 3, a so-called booster diode
d. and the high voltage rectifier tube 5 is provided. The picture tube 6 receives
also its necessary voltages on the grids from the + voltage source,
while the brightness z. B. adjustable by potentiometer 7 in the cathode lead
is. According to the invention, this potentiometer 7 is in series with a capacitor
8 mechanically coupled potentiometer 9 lying on the screen of the tube i. from
i i from it goes to the deflection coils of the picture tube 6, for the sake of clarity
are not drawn. With io - constant booster voltage is taken off.
As already mentioned, by setting the potentiometer 9, the shape of the anode current flow pulse
slightly changed in tube i for the switching process for generating the voltage peak,
whereby the blocking point of the tube i, viewed in time, is shifted. In order to
flows through the turn 3 'and through the tube i a little longer in itself
decreasing current, which results in greater initial attenuation of the circuit. The for
the level of the voltage peak partly responsible for the flow of current and time
is accordingly changed so that the voltage peak is also in their
Height changes and with it also the high voltage on the picture tube. The visible distraction process
for the picture tube, which, apart from the circular constants in connection with the booster diode
4., depends only on the release or opening of the tube i, is determined by the shape of the
Control pulse is not influenced. For this process it is only essential that the
Tube i securely locked and released in time with the control impulses
will. The values of the mechanically coupled potentiometers 7 and 9 can
can easily be chosen so that with decreasing brightness and associated
Load reduction of the high-voltage tube 5 a lower high voltage as a result
Amplitude reduction of the voltage peak at winding 3 'in the sense of keeping the voltage constant
occurs.
