Description

Ultraviolet absorbing filter layers on photosensitive photographic layers for black and white and color photography, ultraviolet filter layers are used in photography for the production of hue-correct colors p! hotograph: ischer Recordings used for the purpose that are invisible to the eye, in the halo-silver layer but to absorb ultraviolet rays causing a light impression. These filter layers are directly or immediately "on the photosensitive" Layer, e.g. B. in the form of a cover attached. Here, however, it is necessary that these substances adhere so thickly in the filter layer that they come into contact with of the photographic layer do not diffuse into it, because this causes the Photosensitivity and gradation of the photographic layer under certain circumstances being affected. Furthermore, the substances suitable for this must be practically colorless otherwise, for example, when projecting recordings on one An annoying hue occurs in the material or because of deterioration in color images the color takes place. Furthermore, the ultraviolet absorbing substances must be used mix with the colloid solution used to produce the layer in such a way that that completely transparent layers are obtained when the colloid dries up. the ultraviolet absorbent previously proposed for filtering purposes Substances do not meet these conditions, in particular the requirement of diffusion fastness.

It has now been found that one particularly useful, ultraviolet absorbent filter layers on light-sensitive photographic layers for black and white and color photography in getting a layering Colloid incorporates such ultraviolet absorbing substances as an active ingredient, by substitution with a carbon chain of at least 5 carbon atoms, the may optionally be substituted with water-solubilizing groups against the layer-forming colloid d ', are infusion-resistant.

As a layer-forming colloid, for example, gelatine, tragacanth, Gum arabic or similar substances in question. The to be used according to the invention, Ultraviolet absorbing layers can contain solutions of said colloids be added in aqueous solution, but are mechanically, z. B. by Rinse, not remove from it.

Suitable ultraviolet absorbing substances are those compounds containing an ultraviolet absorbing molecular component, for example Oxychrydencarbonsäure, Oxyanthracencarbonsäu, re, Oxychrysen, Oxy- and Am-inopyrene, Fl: uoren and its derivatives, derivatives of naphthalene and similar compounds and a molecular residue with a carbon chain of at least 5 carbon atoms, the renders these compounds resistant to diffusion with respect to the colloid.

Ultraviolet absorbing compounds of this type are for example Aminochrysensulfonic acid, its amino groups with stearic acid chloride or with cetyl iodide are closed, the reaction product of undecanoic acid chloride and p, p'-aminob enzoyl-4-4 '= diaminostilbene-3 3'-d'is-sulfonic acid. The bodies of the examples given are, insofar as they contain sulfo or carboxylic acid, so soluble and can be made from aqueous Solution to be added to the solution of the colloid. Body within the meaning of this invention are always characterized in that they are transparent when added to the colloid dry up, the colloid of a corresponding one may appear to be advantageous from time to time Subject to pretreatment, for example with suitable metal oxides.
