Device for operating stably burning arcs It is known
that arc discharges, as they are for many technical purposes between different types
Electrodes are introduced and maintained, only in very specific operating conditions
burn steadily. For this purpose, the processes in the arc itself are primarily
but also the influences in electrodes and counter electrodes are decisive. The consumption
on electrode material through burn-off or material migration brings further difficulties
for stable operation. The criterion for a stable burning arc is
in many cases maintaining a constant arc voltage
considered in other cases. also constant current in the discharge space or
constant temperature should be regarded as an important operating condition.
In Fig. i der Zeichnung
The invention relates to a device for operating stable
burning arcs that use the above-mentioned influencing factors. According to the invention
a voltage- or current-sensitive breakover circuit arrangement regulates the electrode spacing
depending on an operating variable of the arc (arc current, arc voltage,
Temperature in the discharge space). This achieves that the influence of the electrode wear
is practically canceled on the arc.
In Fig. I of the drawing
an embodiment of the invention is shown. An electric arc furnace has that
resting electrode 2 and the movable electrode i, for example by shortening
or lengthening the cable that leads to the winch 3 with the drive motor 4, adjusted
will. The adjustment brings about an approach or removal from the counter electrode
2, which is drawn as a vessel. The arc sustaining current .lW
is fed to electrode i via movable connections and emerges from electrode 2
the end. The current transformer 5 is used to detect the current that occurs
is fed to the control device as an actual value. The secondary current of the converter
5 flows through an impedance arrangement, consisting of capacitor 15 and
Throttle 16 (tilting circle). The voltage appearing on the impedance arrangement
is fed to a phase of an induction motor. The corresponding winding of the
Motor is denoted by 1.4. The winding 17 is via a matching capacitor
18 is applied to a suitable auxiliary AC voltage. The control setpoint is through
Adjustment of the impedance arrangement to a certain value in such a way that
that when the actual and setpoint values match on the impedance arrangement
a voltage occurs that does not match the voltage applied to the auxiliary motor phase
Can form torque. If the current deviates from the setpoint, it occurs, depending on the situation
whether the current is larger or smaller, a leading or lagging phase position of the
Voltage across the impedance assembly. The motor runs depending on the phase position
right or left until the actual value approaches again
on - the setpoint the motor torque becomes zero again. It is beneficial to the
To keep the setpoint adjustable, for example with the help of taps
can easily be achieved at the throttle 16.
Kreis. In Figure 2, a further embodiment of the invention is shown,
where the voltage U "at the arc is used as a criterion for the control process
serves. Instead of the current-sensitive circuit, there is now a voltage-sensitive circuit
Circle.
arbeitet, anzuwenden (vgl. 4).If the arc is not operated with alternating current, but with
Direct current fed, so can, as can be seen from Fig. 3, in place of the
Current converter 5 according to FIG. I use a static DC converter 6, which according to
the principle of the direct current pre-magnetized choke works and one to the direct current
supplies proportional alternating current in the arc, which in turn is the actual value of the
Control device is supplied. This is analogous to regulation on constant DC arc voltage
a DC voltage converter that works on the same principle as the DC converter
works to apply (cf. 4).
Fig. 5).If the temperature in the arc discharge chamber is to influence the control process,
a resistance thermometer 8 is used in a direct current bridge circuit,
to an amplified proportional via a direct current bias choke 9
To supply alternating current, which in turn is fed to a control device according to FIG
(see. Fig. 5).
