IsolierstoffInsulating material
The invention relates to an insulating material made of unspun fiber material with a multi-layer structure, wherein the fibers are arranged in a predetermined direction. Such insulating materials are preferably used in the clothing industry, upholstery industry or in the construction industry as heat and sound insulation or the like.
Insulating materials made from unspun fiber material are already known, for example for buildings and the clothing sector. These insulating materials either consist of flat structures into which fibers are worked in such a way that pile loops or pile tufts are created, or flat structures are subjected to a roughening process, which also leads to a fiber-pile-like surface. A significant disadvantage of these products is that they are relatively flat. The longer the pile tufts are, the more difficult it is to ensure that these fibers remain upright. In addition, several layers of such insulating materials would have to be arranged on top of one another - especially when used in construction - in order to achieve the corresponding insulating effect. However, this is usually offset by the relatively high price of such materials. The use of such constructions is therefore essentially limited to the clothing sector.
Insulating materials that are made up of several layers are also known. For example, layers of fiber piles lying on top of one another are covered on both sides by flat needle felts and are used as insulating materials, especially in buildings. Since the individual layers can easily move against one another, these layers must be secured against the individual layers moving using additional threads, clips or similar. The fibers arranged between the covers are arranged flat, with little air trapped between the covers, so that such mats usually have to be used in several layers on top of one another. Only in this way can the desired insulating effect be achieved.
From DE-OS 30 44 997 an insulating material made of fibrous components arranged in a random position and interwoven with one another is known. In this case, at least one plastic film, at least partially penetrated by fibers and/or fiber tufts, is arranged in the fiber layer.
The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating an insulating material with a very high volume, which at the same time has high tear resistance and high dimensional and volume stability, can be produced without problems and, above all, in a particularly economical manner.
This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1.
The invention ensures that the volume of the insulating material is maintained even under compressive stresses due to the almost vertical arrangement of the majority of the fibers and that the initial volume is restored when the load is removed.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 8.
The further development according to claims 2 to 8 makes it possible to combine layers produced using different technologies, e.g. needle felt, fabric, knitted fabric, etc. with fleece knitted fabric to form a very voluminous insulating material. In special embodiments, different types of fiber materials can also be processed into an insulating material and it is also possible to combine layers of different colors or layers of different types of fibers.
Es zeigen:An embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to Figures 1 to 5. They show:

Figure 5 shows a schematic cross-section of the insulating material consisting of two opposing fiber pile layers with an additional surface structure.
Figure 1 shows the insulating material according to the invention, which consists of mesh layers 1, 2 and vertical or almost vertical fiber parts 3 arranged between mesh layers 1, 2. Both the meshes 4 of mesh layer 1 and the meshes 5 of mesh layer 2 as well as the fiber parts 3 of the fiber pile layer consist of the same fibers, which, depending on their length, are contained in layers 1 and 3, 2 and 3 or in 1, 2 and 3. Each of these layers 1, 2 and 3 consists of a large number of individual fibers, so that a dense layer of upright, untangled fiber parts 3 is present between mesh layers 1, 2. Since these fibers are not twisted together, they form an extraordinarily large surface, which determines the insulating effect in the sense of a high protective effect. Furthermore, it is achieved that the individual layers 1, 2 and 3 cannot be moved against each other.
Figure 2 shows a layered insulating material that consists of two pile nonwovens A, B, each of which has a mesh layer 1, 2 and a fiber pile layer 8, 9. The fiber pile layers 8, 9 are connected at their contact surfaces by a mesh layer 10, whereby the meshes of the mesh layer 10 are formed from the fibers of the fiber pile layer 9. However, the individual meshes of the mesh layer 10 can also consist of fibers from both fiber pile layers 8, 9. In a further exemplary embodiment according to Figure 3, both fiber pile layers 8, 9 are connected by fiber meshes 10 in that fibers 8a are taken from the fiber pile layer 8, pulled through the fiber pile layer 9 and laid over the mesh layer 2 of the pile nonwoven B, so that a further mesh layer 11 is present over the mesh layer 2.
In the insulating material shown in Figure 4, two pile nonwovens A 5 B are connected in a similar manner one above the other, so that the mesh layer 1 of the pile nonwoven A rests on the fiber pile layer 9 of the pile nonwoven B and thus the insulating material has the fiber pile layer 8 as a surface on one side. For certain areas of application, for example in the clothing industry, the different surface design of the insulating material is important. The pile nonwovens A, B are also connected to one another by a mesh layer 11, the meshes 10 of which consist of fibers 8a of the fiber pile layer 8, which are pulled through the fiber pile layer 9 and cut off over the mesh layer 2 of the pile nonwoven B.
The construction of the insulating material according to Figures 2, 3 and 4 can be expanded by inserting a prefabricated surface structure 12 made of fibers, threads, foils or the like (Figure 5). Instead of surface structures, threads or tubular elements can also be incorporated, which are filled with granules, liquids, etc.
In all variants of the insulating material according to the invention shown, the respective fiber pile layers 8, 9 can consist of the same or different fiber materials, fiber finenesses, masses, thicknesses, machine finenesses, colors and the like. The mesh layers 1, 2 and 11 can have the same or different wale densities and mesh heights. For the special application of arranging additional surface structures between the individual fiber pile layers, already equipped or chemically treated surface structures can also be used.
