Traditionally, lawn grid panels are made of concrete. They do not have a tongue and groove. Concrete lawn grid panels are very heavy, inelastic and not weather-resistant in the long term. They are fragile and susceptible to oils, salts and acids.

Lawn grid panels made from plastics from the German Dual System are well known.

When building country roads, the edge strips of roads are filled with topsoil and sown with grass or covered with concrete slabs. In practice, edge strips are driven on more frequently. This usually leads to the topsoil being pushed away or the concrete slab being destroyed. As a result, the destruction of the edge strip also leads to the destruction of the road edges, the road surface and the edge slope. The problem of maintaining the edge strip has not yet been solved technically on narrow roads that can no longer be expanded. The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a grass grid slab as a road verge element that has significantly better performance properties than concrete slabs, such as better resistance to breakage, oil, salt and acid resistance, easy processing and, when combined, a high level of theft protection and immovability. The coloring specified in claim 2 serves as a technical solution to the problem in that the street is visually demarcated by the green strip (like, for example, city streets are demarcated by the sidewalk). This effect cannot be achieved with the usual gray coloring (including of the concrete block), since concrete is usually drivable.
