Entry and exit station for paid parking spaces

The invention relates to an entry and exit station for paid parking spaces according to the preamble of claim 1.

Errors occur again and again when calculating parking fees for paid parking spaces. For example, new parking tickets with a short parking time are often drawn and used to pay parking fees instead of the parking ticket received when entering. Furthermore, the parking ticket drawn when entering can be used to exit any parked vehicle, which makes it possible for parked vehicles to be stolen.

The object of the invention is therefore to create an entry and exit station according to the preamble of claim 1, which provides increased security against incorrect parking times and car theft.

This object is achieved according to the characterizing part of claim 1.

This creates an entry and exit station for paid parking spaces, which, in addition to the usual parking data such as parking ticket identification number, entry time and date, also stores the license plate number in a central computer or directly on the parking tickets, provided they are equipped with a writable chip. At the exit, the paid parking ticket is checked and the license plate number read at entry is compared with the one read at exit. The exit barrier only opens if the license plates read match.

The invention is explained in more detail below using the embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing.

Fig. 1 shows a schematic front view of an entry and exit station with a camera for recording the license plates.

Fig. 1 shows an entry and exit station with an issuing device 1 for parking tickets at the entrance to a paid parking area. Assigned to the issuing device 1 is an entry barrier 2, which is opened when a parking user or customer takes a parking ticket.

A parking user receives a parking ticket by activating an actuating device 3 on the issuing device 1 at the entrance. Before a parking ticket is issued, however, the issuing device 1, triggered by the actuation of the actuating device 3, first reads the parking identification data, such as in particular the parking ticket identification, entry time, date and, if applicable, station number, and together with a license plate number of the entering parking user recorded by a camera 4, sends it to a central computer as the basis for the later

The data is stored or saved for further fee calculation. The activation of the camera 4 is also triggered by the operation of the actuating device 3.

The camera 4 is set up in the entrance area in such a way that it can read the front or rear license plate of the parking users entering. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the front license plate is read at the entrance.

After the entire parking data set has been read and stored, the entrance barrier 2 is opened via a control device provided in the output device 1.

Alternatively, the entire parking data set, including the license plate number of the parking user entering the parking space, can be individually stored on the parking tickets to be issued, provided that these are equipped with a writable chip. The control device of the issuing device 1 is then preferably combined with a reading and/or writing device for the parking tickets.

The input and output station includes, in addition to the output device 1 at the entrance, a return device 5 at the exit, which is assigned to an exit barrier 6. The return device 5 is intended for the input of paid parking tickets that serve as proof of authorization to exit and are used to open the exit barrier 6. Usually, a grace period is noted on paid parking tickets within which the parking user must exit. Using a control device in the return device 5 that can be connected to the central computer, the remaining grace period is checked when exiting and, in addition, the reading of the license plate of the exiting parking user is activated. A comparator included in the control device compares the license plate read when exiting with the one stored in the central computer. If the license plates match when entering and issuing and the grace period for exiting is observed, the control

facility to open the exit barrier 6.

Alternatively, the control device can be designed as an additional reading and/or writing device if the parking data is stored in a chip of the parking ticket.

Furthermore, the control devices of the output device 1 and the return device 5 can be parts of the central computer for storing and/or processing parking data records.

Preferably, only one camera 4 is set up in the area of the entry and exit station, which is arranged so that it can be pivoted so that it can be directed at the entry area on the one hand and the exit area on the other.

The camera 4 is arranged at such a distance from the output device 1 and the return device 5 that the front license plate of the parking user's vehicles can be read when entering and the rear license plate when exiting, or vice versa.

Claims (4)

Expectations 1. Entry and exit station for paid parking spaces with an issuing device for parking tickets that responds to an actuating device, as well as a return device for parking tickets and a control device for opening a parking barrier when issuing and returning a parking ticket, characterized in that a camera (4) for reading license plates is set up in the area of the entry and exit station and can be activated via the actuating direction (3), and the return device (5) has a comparator for comparing the license plates read during entry and issue. 2. Entry and exit station according to claim 1, characterized in that the control device is part of a computer unit for storing and processing parking ticket identification, parking time and license plate number at entry and exit for the calculation of parking fees. 3. Entry and exit station according to claim 1, characterized in that the control device comprises a read and write unit for storing parking data on the parking tickets equipped with a writable chip. 4. Entry and exit station according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the camera (4) is pivotally mounted for reading the front license plate when entering and for reading the rear license plate when exiting or vice versa. ·
