Zum Einbringen von Stroh, Heu, Grünfutter od. dgl. in die Ansaugöffnung eines Schneidgebläsesj Messersternhäckslers od. dgl. sind diesem im allgemeinen Einfallmulden vorgeschaltet. Deren Gestaltung ist jeweils davon abhängig, ob es sich um eine Fallmulde handelt, in die das Schneidgut von Hand eingeworfen wird, oder ob das Schneidgut maschinell in die Mulde gefördert wird. Beispielsweise sind für Stroh Einfallmulden entwickelt worden, die sich unmittelbar an die Dreschmaschine anschließen lassen, so daß die Dreschmaschine, die Einfallmulde und das Schneidgebläse eine baulich geschlossene Einheit bilden.
