Description
Beschreibung Bauteil zur Geräuschdämmung. Description Component for sound insulation.
The invention relates to a component for sound insulation, in particular for use in vehicle construction.
Nachteilig an einem derartigen Gehäuse ist, daß aufgrundIt is known that in motor vehicle construction, drive units are sometimes provided with housings that reduce the noise generated by the unit. Such components are known from gearbox and engine construction, where gearbox housings, for example, are designed to be noise-insulating. According to the state of the art, noise insulation is achieved by the housing being made of two metallic layers, for example sheet metal, which are connected to one another by a plastic layer. This means that such a housing is essentially made of three layers. The disadvantage of such a housing is that, due to
Due to the plastic intermediate layer, such components can only be used where temperatures above 130° to 140° do not occur, otherwise the plastic intermediate layer will melt, which will then significantly reduce the sound insulation.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a component for noise insulation that can also be used in units that operate in the high temperature range.
According to the invention, the problem is solved by at least two metal layers, for example sheets, arranged one above the other, which in particular have a different thickness. In particular with layers of different thicknesses, it has been shown that this can achieve a level of noise insulation that can also be achieved with the three-layer component known from the prior art. This can be explained by the fact that the two layers each have a different natural frequency due to the different thickness, which leads to the elimination of the resulting frequencies. It has also proven to be advantageous if at least one of the two layers has a coating, for example made of aluminum, which is applied to the side facing the other layer. The two layers are connected to one another directly, for example by pressure joining. Pressure joining is understood to mean caulking the components, whereby pressure joining has the advantage that damage to the surfaces is largely avoided. If damage to the surfaces can be avoided, there is also no risk of corrosion between the two layers forming the component.
