Absorptionskältemaschinen mit atmosphärischen Gasbrennern beheizt, die relativ hohe Schadstoffemissionen bewirken und die aufgrund hoher Oberflächentemperaturen hohe Abstrahlungsverluste aufweisen. Zur Reduzierung der Schadstoffe im Abgas werden in einem weiteren Bereich der Heizgerätetechnik schadstoffarme Strahlungsbrenner eingesetzt. Die Anwendung eines keramischen Strahlungsbrenners bei den o. a. Absorptionskältemaschinen führte aber ebenso zu hohen Abstrahlungsverlusten. Die Vorteile des neuen Strahlungsbrenners liegen neben den ursprünglich geringen Schadstoffemissionen insbesondere in der geringen Oberflächentemperatur des Brennergehäuses und damit einer reduzierten Wärmeabstrahlung. Unterstützt wird dieser Effekt durch die vorgenommene Integration der Vormischkammer für das Gas-/Luftgemisch in das Brennergehäuse und den Einbau von Zünd- und Überwachungselektroden durch die Vormischkammer und Brennerplatten anstatt seitlich durch die Isolierung. Insgesamt ergibt sich ein einfacher Brenneraufbau.
