The invention relates to a device for drying laundry, which is primarily intended for attachment to and/or installation in/in facilities in the utility room.

The essential feature of the invention is that the device for drying laundry essentially consists of a rectangular frame, the lower part of which has a rotatably mounted grid part which can be set in an upright, horizontal and at least one position in between, and that a series of horizontally projecting bars which can be rotated to the side are attached to the upper part of the device for drying laundry above the grid.

Drying laundry and clothes in private homes is difficult because the space available is usually very limited. In addition, woollen clothes, for example, cannot be hung up because they would otherwise become distorted.

The present invention provides a solution to these problems. The laundry drying device according to the invention is extremely small. The laundry drying device can hang a large number of clothes to dry and can also be used to dry difficult types of fabric.

The device for drying clothes according to the invention comprises the frame 1, which has a rectangular shape. The frame 1 is also equipped with a rear wall. This device can be used as such, integrated into the facilities of the utility room or built into the kitchen equipment. The grid 2 is attached to the frame 1 with hinges, which can be freely adjusted as described from the upright position (Fig. 1) to the horizontal position (Fig. 3) and to at least one position in between (Fig. 2). For these positions, the device for drying clothes is equipped with a locking device 3, which locks the grid in the upright position, and a stopper 5, which locks the grid in an intermediate position, e.g. at an angle of inclination of 45 °, whereby items of clothing or coat hangers to be dried can be easily hung on the crossbars of the grid.

The device for drying clothes is completed by the bars 4, which are attached to the upper part of the frame and project horizontally and can be rotated to the side. The mechanism of the bars is advantageously designed so that it aligns the bars at a right angle to the rear wall of the frame 1. Fig. 4 shows the side view of a device for drying clothes with a grid according to the invention in the upright position, the intermediate position and horizontal position are shown in dashed lines.

If the laundry drying device according to the invention is not in use, the grid is turned into an upright position and locked to the rear wall using the locking device. In this way, the laundry drying device requires extremely little space. In a favorable case, the horizontal bars 4 can be turned to the side against the wall.

Depending on the intended use, the grille is moved to an intermediate position using the stopper 3 or all the way down to a horizontal position, where it rests on the stop on the lower part of the frame 1.

In the intermediate position, garments can be hung directly or with clothes hangers on the

crossbars of the rack. When turned into a horizontal position, woolen clothes can be laid out on the rack to dry. A rack like this is also practical for drying shoes and the like. When the rack is in an upright position, clothes can be hung directly or using coat hangers on the upper bars. Of course, clothes that cannot be hung up to dry can also be dried on the bars.

Claim for protection ''.. Device for drying laundry, which is intended for attachment and/or installation on/in facilities of the utility room, characterized in that it consists essentially of a rectangular frame (1), the lower part of which has a rotatably attached grid part (2) which can be set in an upright, horizontal position and, with the stopper (5), in at least one position in between, and that on the upper part of the device for drying laundry (1) above the grid (2) a series of horizontally projecting and sideways rotatable bars (4) are attached.
