Storage container for writing instruments

The invention relates to kettle-shaped storage containers for writing instruments, having a cylindrical shell-shaped boundary that is open at the top and a base from which a plurality of pins protrude upwards on the inside, which are spaced apart from one another so that they can accommodate writing instruments in a substantially vertical orientation.

Such preparation devices are known and can be used to accommodate several different writing instruments in such an orientation that each individual writing instrument can be removed individually due to the distance from neighboring writing instruments. Although such storage containers can be provided with images or information areas on their outside, the total area available for such information is limited to the outer surface.

The invention aims to considerably increase the area available for information in a storage container of the type mentioned at the beginning.

This is achieved in that the boundary has a hinge along at least one surface line, a part of the boundary is fixed to the floor surface and at least another part of the boundary can be pivoted about the hinge, and that the inner surface of the boundary is provided with information markings or is designed with cut-out parts for pieces of cardboard, paper or the like or for plastic cards.

In the storage container according to the invention, the casing of the storage container is divided into two, preferably three parts. One of the parts is firmly connected to the base, while the remaining parts are connected to this fixed casing part via hinges. If, for example, a division of 120 ° and correspondingly three parts is selected, the two outer parts can be swung out on their hinges so that the viewer can see the entire inner surface. Telephone numbers or the like can be printed on this inner surface, for example, but frames or pockets can also be provided, which in turn are suitable for holding pieces of cardboard or so-called plastic cards. When such a storage container is used on a desk, the inside is visible to the viewer, while a person sitting opposite cannot see the corresponding information.

Although according to the invention injection-molded plastic is a possible material for producing the storage container, other materials are also conceivable. It is also not essential for the invention that a cylindrical shell is used, any column shape is also conceivable.

For example, the shape of a hexagonal column with an even division and a single section that is firmly attached to the ground.

It is also within the scope of the invention not to provide a vertical dividing line for the hinge. It is also conceivable to choose a line oriented diagonally in space as the hinge axis.

It is within the scope of the invention to use any suitable hinge with two hinges and pins, but film hinges or similar means could equally well be used.

The inner surface of the casing of the storage container according to the invention can be printed directly and covered with a self-adhesive piece of paper. It is also conceivable to provide a transparent plastic part here, which forms a kind of pocket into which, for example, any information carrier can be inserted.

In the embodiment shown, a uniform division into three parts has been chosen, so that there are a total of three shell pieces that extend over 120°. These are parts 11, 13 and 31. Part 31 is firmly connected to the base part 12 at its lower end. Part 31 is designed with hinges 26 and 27 on its delimiting shell lines, so that the two parts 11 and 13 can be pivoted inwards and outwards in the form of wings. When pivoted inwards, a closed cylindrical shell is created, while in the representation shown in the figure, the inner surfaces of parts 13, 11 and 31 take on a wave shape. It is clear that information located on the inner shell surfaces can be easily seen by an observer, which is not the case when parts 11 and 13 are pivoted inwards.
