Seifenstücke insbesondere für Toiletteseifen sind in den unterschiedlichsten Zusammensetzungen, Formen und Farben bekannt. Üblicherweise werden Seifenstücke nach der Benutzung bei Waschbecken und Badewannen in feuchtem Zustand auf Seifenschalen abgelegt und liegen dort in abtropfender Flüssigkeit, so daß sich während des üegens des Seifenstücks ein gewisser Teil desselben löst und für die Benutzung verlorengeht. Das Abtropfwasser läuft entlang dem Stab in den Ständer oder das Glas, in welchen bzw. welches der Stab gestellt wurde. Damit wird auch ein Abtropfen auf das Waschbecken und dessen Verunreinigung verhindert. Der Stab kann in starrer oder halbstarrer Ausführung auch aus Kunststoff bestehen.
