The present invention relates to a new cosmetic product, in particular a skin care and skin treatment product, which has a nourishing and moisturizing effect on the skin.

Skin care products with moisturising properties achieved by adding various substances have long been known and available on the market.

The aim of moisturizing products is to moisturize the stratum corneum and keep it moist for as long as possible.

The ingredients used in these moisturizers are in particular protein hydrolysates, urea, polyalcohols such as glycerin, propylene glycol and/or butylene glycol, sorbitol, various amino acids, in particular their mixtures, sodium lactate, the sodium salt of pyrrolidonecarboxylic acid, condensates of amino acids and carbohydrates and various complex mixtures.

In addition to the moisturizing effect of a skin care product, a nourishing effect on the epidermis is of course also desired.

There was therefore a need to provide skin care and moisturizing products that also have an optimal care effect on the skin, especially the facial skin.

This object is achieved by adding a combination of 0.1 to 5.0, preferably 0.25 to 2.5 percent by weight of oil-containing nanosomes and 0.1 to 5.0, in particular 0.25 to 2.5 percent by weight of polyglyceryl methacrylate, each calculated on the total composition, to a cosmetic product, in particular a water-based skin care and treatment product.

The use of nanosomes loaded with skin-care, particularly lipophilic, active ingredients is already known, see the overview by R.A. Brunke and E.Charlet in Seifen, Öle, Fette, Wachse, Volume 117 (1991), pp. 514 to 517.

These nanosomes or nanoparticles consist of a shell of lipids, for example sphingolipids, phospholipids or ceramides and, as their name suggests, have particle sizes in the nanometer range. According to the invention, the particle size is between about 50 and about 600 nm, preferably between about 100 and 300 nm. The lipid phase is about 5 to 35, preferably 10 to 30%; the proportion of phospholipids, in particular lecithin, is between about 2 and 15, preferably 5 to 10%.

A group of nanosomes that are ideally suited for use according to the invention is marketed under the name "Ultraspheres" by the company Lipoid KG.

The nanosomes used according to the invention contain nourishing oils, whereby in principle all natural and synthetic oils suggested for this purpose can be used, provided, of course, that they do not cause skin irritation. Such nourishing oily substances are known to the expert from the relevant manuals, cf. for example K. Schrader, "Grundlagen und Rezepturen der Kosmetika", 2nd edition (1989, Hüthig Buchverlag Heidelberg), p. 410 and p. 332 to 341.

The proportion of oily substances in the nanoparticles is preferably between about 3 and about 30, in particular 10 to 25 percent by weight, based on the nanoparticles.

Preferred oils are, for example, vegetable oils such as soybean oil, peanut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, almond oil, peach kernel oil, jojoba oil, evening primrose oil, macadamia nut oil or wheat germ oil; preferred synthetic oils are in particular the esters of higher fatty acids such as isopropyl myristate, palmitate or isostearate, dicarboxylic acid esters such as diisopropyl adipate, fatty alcohols, higher hydrocarbons such as paraffin oil, the well-known silicone oils, polyol fatty acid esters, etc.

The oil-containing nanoparticles used according to the invention can of course also contain other lipophilic components. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, oil-soluble vitamins or their oil-soluble derivatives can be mentioned as such, for example vitamin A palmitate and vitamin E acetate or propionate.

UV-absorbing substances can also be used in the nanosomes according to the invention if desired, especially when they are sunscreen preparations.

The second essential component of the cosmetic agents according to the invention is polyglyceryl methacrylate in an amount of 0.1 to 5.0, preferably 0.25 to 2.5 percent by weight, based on the total composition of the cosmetic agent. The presence of polyglyceryl methacrylate not only gives the compositions according to the invention an additional skin moisturizing effect, but this additive can also, in certain application forms, have a stabilizing effect on the oil-containing nanosomes, especially when they are aqueous dispersions or emulsions or gels.

Corresponding polyglyceryl methacrylate compositions are commercially available, for example under the trade name "Lubrajel" from Guardian Co. or under the name "Hispagel" from Hispano-Quimica, which are aqueous gels, while the above concentration data for polyglyceryl methacrylate naturally refer to the content of the substance itself.

The molecular weight of the polyglyceryl methacrylate used is preferably between about 5,000 and about 500,000.

The cosmetic agents according to the invention can be present in a wide variety of application forms, such as aqueous dispersions, oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, gels, etc.

These compositions contain the known basic and additive substances, in this regard, reference is again made to the known state of the art, as described, for example, in Schrader, I.e., pp. 387 to 590.

However, the combination according to the invention is not limited to use in skin cosmetic products, but can also be used in hair care products, in particular hair lotions, gels or treatments.

With regard to the framework formulations that can be considered for this purpose, reference is again made to Schrader, I.e., pp. 722 to 737, and, with regard to hair tonics, to pp. 763 to 771; this publication is introduced into the description by citation.

Another substance, through the use of which in the cosmetic products according to the invention, their skin care effect, in particular the moisturizing effect, can be further increased and, when used as a hair care product, an additional protective effect on the hair is achieved, is carboxymethyl chitin, which is used in an amount of 0.25 to 2.5 percent by weight, based on the total composition.

Carboxymethylchitin is a water-soluble derivative of chitin that has been made water-soluble by introducing a carboxymethyl group.

According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the cosmetic agent contains plant extracts, either as oily extracts in the nanosomes and/or as aqueous extracts in the total composition, preferably in an amount of between about 0.05 and 5, in particular 0.1 to 3% by weight of the total composition.

In principle, all plant extracts that are used in cosmetic products are suitable here too, for example extracts from the leaves, roots and flowers of birch, nettles, chamomile, burdock, valerian, witch hazel, lemon balm, calendula, cucumber, rosemary, sage, burdock root, coltsfoot, aloe, gingko, hawthorn, etc.

In the following, some examples are given to illustrate the invention, although the actual application possibilities are of course much more diverse than can be described in a short list.

Claims (10)

&Agr;-2/93 claims 1. Aqueous-based cosmetic product containing a combination of a) 0.1 to 5.0 wt.% oil-containing nanosomes and b) 0.1 to 5.0 wt.% polyglyceryl methacrylate, each calculated based on the total composition of the product. 2. Cosmetic agent according to claim 1, containing 0.25 to 2.5 wt.% oil-containing nanosomes. 3. Cosmetic agent according to claim 1 or 2, containing 0.25 to 2.5 wt.% polyglyceryl methacrylate. 4. Cosmetic agent according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains 2.5 to 25% by weight, calculated on the total composition, of at least one polyalcohol from the group glycerin, butylene glycol and/or propylene glycol. 5. Cosmetic agent according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the oil-containing nanosomes comprise 5 to 50% by weight of lipid phase. 6. Cosmetic agent according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the oil-containing nanosomes contain 2 to 15% of a phospholipid fraction. ■•'•■ ^: iL'bb· 7. Cosmetic agent according to claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the oil-containing nanosomes contain 5 to 10% lecithin. 8. Cosmetic agent according to one or more of claims 5 to 7, characterized in that the oil-containing nanosomes contain one or more oil-soluble vitamins or their oil-soluble derivatives. 9. Cosmetic agent according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains 0.1 to 2.5% by weight, based on the total composition, of carboxymethylchitin. 10. Cosmetic agent according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that it additionally contains plant extract.
