Abstract

The invention relates to a toroidal-core (annular-core) current transformer for mounting in an earthed metal enclosure which surrounds a high-voltage conductor, having at least one toroidal core which has a winding using the feed wires passing through the metal enclosure and a metal shielding which surrounds the winding. In order to prevent interference voltages in the measurement signal, the metal shielding is designed with low resistance and low inductance. The metal shielding is formed by a conducting layer, in particular foil or fabric which has an insulating gap in order to prevent short-circuit winding.
