Description
Process for the production of granulated superphosphate The patent 837 io4 relates to a process for the production of a pressure-resistant granulated superphosphate, according to which fresh or deposited superphosphate is combined with certain slowly or rapidly hardening, water-soluble organic or inorganic binders. Subsequent intimate mixing gives a more or less viscous mass, which is converted into granules by movements promoting granulation, optionally with the addition of substances that act as separating substances, such as wood dust, finely powdered fertilizers, peat meal, lignite dust, dolomite marl or the like . It is no longer necessary to dry the granules. The water-glass that can be used is primarily water-glass; however, other substances are also mentioned. The binders are added in aqueous solution, depending on the type of binder used, an addition of about 1.5 to 10% of such a solution containing 1/4 '/ 0 or more binders to the superphosphate is generally sufficient to to bring about the desired hardening effect and sufficient granulation.
It has now been found that instead of the water glass used as a binder in aqueous solution, an aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid can be used with good success in whole or in part, preferably such as is used in the digestion of raw phosphate part with sulfuric acid to form superphosphate with the highest possible content of gelatinous silica in the form of an aqueous solution of about 10 'B # is obtained. This has proven to be advantageous when used together by Kieselfluorwasserstoff- and water glass solution, the two Lösun "e n to add the to grannlierenden superphosphate succession to avoid unwanted flocculation.
The procedure according to the invention has proven to be particularly advantageous in the granulation, described in an earlier process, of stiperphosphate to which neutralizing substances such as dolomite marl, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate or a similar substance are added. The use of an aqueous solution of silicofluoric acid alone or with MT, together , waterglass solution as a binder, in the latter case expediently one after the other, has an extremely beneficial effect not only on the granulation of the superphosphate, but also, in particular, on the preservation of the in water-soluble phosphoric acid contained in the granules formed.
During the granulation or with the separating substances, if these are used. other substances that cause certain effects in the soil can also be added. As such, trace elements such as water-soluble salts of copper can be used. Manganese, cobalt, zinc, iodine or boron, e.g. B. K-Lipf-ersulfat, manganese sulfate, borax and the like., Are in question and / or pesticides such as hexachlorocyclohexane, p, p'-dichlorodipheiivltrieliloräthan od. B. Engerlingen, is known. These are advantageously used as a mixture with the separating substances or, expediently, directly in the form of the known dusts produced with them.
Example i Freshly digested superphosphate is intimately mixed with 10% of an aqueous 1, Z-ieselfltiorwasserstoffsälire of 10 ' B # which is obtained in the superphosphate production and is highly enriched in gelatinous silica, and the mass is then immediately awned in an awning device, for example a rotary kiln. The formed, still moist granules are finally dusted with: 2% finely powdered Thomas flour while continuing the granulating movement. The granules can then be put into storage immediately or filled into sacks.
Example 2 77.2 parts of superphosphate are intimately mixed with 20.8 parts of dolomite marl and first granulated with 1: 2 parts of aqueous silicofluoric acid solution of 10 'B # in a granulating device, for example by means of a granulating plate. After dusting with 2 1 / o dolomite marl, granules of excellent firmness and a very high content of water-soluble phosphoric acid are obtained.
EXAMPLE 3 77 parts of superphosphate are intimately mixed with 20 parts of calcium carbonate and 1 part of a mixture of 0.6 parts of borax, 0.3 parts of manganese sulphate and oj part of copper sulphate and treated further as indicated in Example 2. The granules obtained have good firmness and can be placed in stock immediately or filled for dispatch.
