The invention relates to a case for cards, in particular check cards, made of three rigid plastic films that are connected to one another by welded seams in the area of several edges to form two pockets, in which the cards can be clamped in the area of the ends of the pockets facing away from the insertion openings.

Tight tolerances must be maintained for the clamping effect. Both of the above-mentioned circumstances are not entirely satisfactory, not least in view of the mass-produced nature of covers of the type under discussion.

The invention is based on the object of designing a cover of the type in question in such a way that it is easier to manufacture and, in addition, offers a guarantee of uniform clamping forces without having to comply with special accuracy requirements, so that the covers or the cards belonging to the covers can be handled without problems. This object is achieved according to the invention in that, in a relevant cover, the middle plastic hard film forming a partition between the two pockets is provided with at least two wedge-shaped bulges, the cross-section of which increases towards the ends of the pockets facing away from the insertion openings and at least one of which protrudes into each of the pockets.

The bulges on the central plastic hard film that forms the partition can be produced in one operation. As they do not extend over the entire width, their clamping characteristic, which is comparable to a spring characteristic, is more favorable than with the state-of-the-art covers.

The cover shown in the drawing consists of three hard plastic films 1, 2 and 3. The hard plastic films and 3 form the outer walls of two pockets 4 and 5, which are separated from each other by the hard plastic film 2 which forms a partition wall. Each of the two hard plastic films 1 and 2 is provided with a window 6 or 7.

The rigid plastic films 1 and 2 are connected to one another by a circumferential weld seam 13 both in the area of their longitudinal edges 8 and 9 and in the area of their transverse edge 12 opposite the insertion openings 10 and 11 of the insertion pockets 4 and 5, while a connection of the rigid plastic film 2 forming the partition with the rigid plastic films 1 and 3 in the area of the transverse edge of the rigid plastic film 2 is deliberately omitted in order not to impair the flexibility of the central rigid plastic film 2 in the area of the longitudinal axis 14.

In the immediate vicinity of the longitudinal axis 14 of the cover or the rigid plastic film 2 forming the partition, two bulges 15 and 16 are provided, one of which protrudes over one side and one over the other side of the rigid plastic film 2, as can be seen from Figures 6 and 7. The bulges 15 and 16 have a semicircular cross-section which, as can be seen from Figure 8, increases in size towards the transverse edge 12 of the rigid plastic film. The shape of the bulges 15 and 16 and their position relative to the longitudinal axis 14 ensure that cards inserted into the described double cover are held securely. The fact that the length 1 of the bulges is small in relation to the length L of the pockets contributes to ease of handling. In practice, a length ratio of 1:L in the order of 1:10 has proven to be effective.

Case for cards, in particular check cards, made of three hard plastic films which are connected to one another by welded seams in the region of several edges to form two pockets, in which the cards can be clamped in the region of the ends of the pockets facing away from the insertion openings, characterized in that the middle hard plastic film (2) forming a partition between the two pockets (4, 5) is provided with at least two wedge-shaped bulges (15, 16), the cross-section of which increases towards the ends of the pockets (4, 5) facing away from the insertion openings (10, 11) and of which at least one projects into one of the pockets (4, 5). 2.
