OFFICE WORKSTATION KIT

The invention relates to a kit for office workstations. The invention is intended to create an inexpensive kit that nevertheless allows a variety of different forms of workstations, i.e. forms of table tops that can be put together. The components should be easy to assemble, dismantle if necessary and reassemble in a different form. The components of the kit should be able to be packed in relatively small packaging units, i.e. for inexpensive transport. A high degree of flexibility in the planning and design of office workstations should be enabled and thus a basis for the planner's creativity. Subsequent extensions and conversions should be easy and quick to carry out.

All of this is achieved at the same time by the invention according to claim 1. Table tops of various formats are used. Matching support frames and feet of various shapes, all of which can be mounted on simple Ueisa.

Further developments of the invention
arise from the subclaims.

According to claim 2, feet of three different shapes and also of different depths can be formed very easily. This represents a departure from the previously common four-legged tables and tables with bow legs.

The shapes of a large number of different table tops result, according to claim 3, from a geometric point of view, from the assembly of a rectangular or square section with a section in the form of a right-angled, isosceles triangle.

In most cases, according to claim 4, the triangular section is placed with one of its legs on a narrow edge of a rectangular section or on an edge of a square section. The outlines of such plates therefore have right angles, angles of 45° and of 135°.

According to claim 8, the rear corners of the table tops can be cut off and triangular, plate-like filler pieces can be provided, which preferably have rounded corners and are to be attached to the table tops in place of the missing rear corners.

Cutting off the corners and replacing the missing piece with a filler piece has various meanings: On the one hand, this means that table tops of 800 mm depth and on the other hand of 600 mm depth can be used, although the triangular construction would result in a smaller depth of the narrower table top, flan then uses plates of 800 and 600 mm depth that comply with the DIN standard. In this case, the hypotenuse of the trapezoidal plate of smaller depth would be longer than 800 mm. By cutting off the pointed corner of the triangular section, the beveled edge of such a table top can be shortened to less than 800 mm, so that, including a filler piece, a hypotenuse length of 800 mm is obtained.

Cutting off the corner has another meaning. According to claim 10, insertion openings accessible from above for vertical supports of structures can be provided at the rear ends of the frames. If no structures are required, the insertion openings can be covered by the filler pieces mentioned.

Embodiments with further features of the invention are described below with reference to the drawings.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of an office workstation with a rectangular top and a top which _, geometrically speaking, has the shape of a rectangle with an attached triangle.

Figure 2 is a foreshortened bottom view of a support frame for a rectangular table top.

Figure 3 is a foreshortened bottom view of a support frame for a table top with one short side sloping.

Figure 4 is a partial section in plane IU of the supporting frame according to Figure 3.

Figure 5 shows a top view of variations 5.1 to 5.11 of office workstations, which are to be assembled using rectangular, square and trapezoidal panels.

Figure 6 is a plan view of an angled workstation.

Figure 7 is a partial view in the direction of an arrow in Figure 6 of the hanging mechanism.

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of one of many possible office workstations, all of which can be assembled from the kit according to the invention. This workstation has a rectangular table top 2 and a trapezoidal table top 4. Under the rectangular table top there is a support frame 6 according to Figure 2. At each end it has a frame 8. Both frames are firmly connected to one another by longitudinal struts 10. The support frame has almost the dimensions of the table top. The table top 2 has a depth of 80 cm, the table top 4 has a depth of 60 cm, which corresponds to DIN standard 4549. The frames 8 therefore have a depth of almost 80 cm. Figure 3 shows a support frame 12 for a trapezoidal top with a depth of 60 cm. Accordingly, its frame 13 is almost 60 cm long. The supporting frame has a frame 14 set at 45°, corresponding to a beveled edge of a trapezoidal table top.

The support frames according to Figures 2 and 3 are seen from below. Figure 4 shows a section in the plane IU of Figure 3. The frame 8, as well as the other frames, are hollow tubes, one end of which is bevelled, and in such a way that the frame becomes narrower towards the bottom. The support frame according to Figure 3 has a short longitudinal strut 16 and a longer longitudinal strut 17 corresponding to the inclination of the frame 14. Since the support frame 12 is seen from below, it does not fit the trapezoidal table top 4 according to Figure 1, but rather a mirror-image plate, although this is of no fundamental importance.

The longitudinal struts 10, 16 and 17 run a little inwards from the front and rear table edges. In Figure 1, all frames that are connected at right angles to their longitudinal struts are each provided with a foot. Figure 1 shows in principle the three possible types of feet that can be produced with the kit according to the invention. 20 designates a C-foot, which is screwed together from the frame 8 (which can hardly be seen in Figure 1), a foot extension 22 and two vertical supports 24. 26 designates an eegr;-foot, which is screwed together from a frame 14, a foot extension 22 and two vertical supports 24. Where the frame and foot extension are arranged next to each other, the vertical supports 24 are arranged on the n-foot 26 near the two ends of the foot extension 22 and the frame 14. 28 designates a T-foot, which is screwed together from a shortened foot extension 30, a correspondingly short frame 13 and vertical supports 24, the vertical supports here being arranged symmetrically on both sides of the middle of the foot extension 3D and frame 13.

In order to form the three types of different feet described, the long foot supports 22 have four holes 32. The foot supports are hollow profiles that are open at the bottom. The vertical supports 24, which are equipped with an internal thread part, can be screwed on from below through the holes 32. Accordingly, the supports 24 are screwed from above to the frames, which are also provided with holes 32 at the distances shown. Instead, the supports 24 can each be provided with a threaded pin at their upper ends in the position of use and can thus be screwed on from below.

To create tables of different heights, e.g. 720 and 750 mm, supports of other lengths can be used.

Both the foot supports 22 and 30 and the frames 8, 13 and 14 can be provided with additional holes (not shown), which enables the installation of vertical cable ducts.

The frames 8, 13 and 14 are provided with holes 34 for attaching the vertical supports 24. The holes 34 correspond in their position to the holes 32 of the foot supports. Figure 4 shows that the frames have a welded-in reinforcement plate 36 at the bottom where the holes are required, in which there is a threaded hole 38, so that vertical supports equipped with threaded pins can be attached from below.

are fixed. Instead, you can also insert a cap screw from above through a suitably arranged hole 40 through the threaded hole 38. Then you can use supports without a joint pin.

Figure 5 shows variants of workstations that can be manufactured using a few table shapes. Rectangular table tops 42 and 43 with a depth of 80 cm and various lengths are used, as well as trapezoidal plates 45 and 46, the shape of which is geometrically obtained by joining a square 48 (variant 5.1) with an isosceles right-angled triangle 50, with the triangle being placed with one of its legs against the square 45. The length of the hypotenuse 52 (variant 5.10) gives the edge length of a square table top 54 or a rectangular table top 56 in variants 5.6 and 5.4.

Furthermore, trapezoidal plates 58 of lesser depth are formed. These table tops can be found in variants 5.3, 5.5, 5.7, 5.9 and 5.11.

Figure 6 shows a rectangular workstation that is composed of two trapezoidal plates of type 45 and 46 according to variant 5.4. Here, however, an intermediate plate 65 is suspended, which is formed from a rectangle and a right-angled isosceles triangle in such a way that the hypotenuse of the triangle borders on one narrow side of the rectangle. The intermediate plate 65 does not have its own frames, but is suspended in the frames 14 of the adjacent tables, namely by means of retaining tabs 67 according to Figure 7. One of the retaining tabs is viewed in the direction of an arrow 66 in Figure 6. It is screwed to the frame 14 at the bottom and screwed to the intermediate plate 65 from below with a rotary knob 69.

The two corners on the side of the table tops 45 and 56 facing away from the user are cut off at an angle, as can be seen in Figure 6. Basically triangular but rounded filler pieces 70 can be attached to the cut off corners of the table tops in order to fix the table top there.

complete. Figure 6 shows that the missing corners make insertion openings 72 of the frames 14 freely accessible. These insertion openings are provided in addition to the openings in the frames described above and are used to insert vertical supports 74 for an upper frame (third level), which is shown here in a very simple form as a board 76 to which, for example, a bowl 78 can be attached.

Figures 8 (and 12) show more clearly, for a table top arrangement that differs from that in Figure 6, the cut ends 80 of a triangular section of a table top and 82 of a rectangular table top, as well as the associated filler pieces 84 and 70, which have been inserted into the table tops by means not shown here. Below the filler pieces 84 and 70, the frames 14 and 8 with their insertion openings 72 can be seen in Figure 8.

The cut ends have another meaning in triangular plate sections: If one assumes a plate depth of 800 mm for the table top 43 in Figure 12, which is prescribed by DIN standard 4549, and the triangular construction, the narrower table top 58 would have a depth of around 566 mm, namely 800 mm * sine 45° = 800 x 0.707 = around 566 mm. However, since the DIN standard specifies a depth of 600 mm for the narrower table tops, these narrower table tops have a depth of 600 mm, whereby by cutting away their tip 86, no part of the plate protrudes. This tip is therefore not present and is replaced by a rounded filler piece 84. This trick makes it possible to join panels with depths of 800 and 600 mm together using right-angled isosceles triangle sections.

Claims (11)

Kit for office workstations, characterized by the combination of the following features: a) Table tops of various formats, b) Support frame (6, 12) for the table tops with frames (8, 13, 14) to support the side edges of the table tops and one longitudinal strut (10, 16, 17) each to connect the two frames to each other, c) the longitudinal struts are arranged at a distance from the front and rear edges of the table top to be supported, d) foot extension (22, 30), e) the frames and the foot supports have, distributed along their longitudinal direction, vertical holes at mutual distances for the insertion of vertical supports between the frame and foot supports, f) such that feet (20, 26, 28) of different shapes can be formed. 2. Kit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the following shapes of feet can be formed by different arrangements of the supports between foot supports and frames: a) one support each near the front and rear ends of both (namely foot extensions and frames) (n-foot 26), b) to one support near the heel of both (T-foot 28), c) to supports near one, especially rear end of both (C-foot 20). Kit according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that in addition to rectangular, in the limit case square table tops, trapezoidal table tops (45) are provided, the shape of which, geometrically speaking, results from a rectangular or square section (48) with an attached section in the form of a right-angled, isosceles triangle (5G) (Fig. 5: 5.1). 4. Kit according to claim 3, characterized in that, geometrically speaking, the triangular section is placed with its one leg (49) on a narrow edge of a rectangular section or on an edge of a square section. 5. Kit according to claim 3, characterized in that, geometrically speaking, the triangular section is placed with its hypotenuse on a narrow edge of a rectangular section or on an edge of a square section (Fig. 6). 6. Kit according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that in the case of rectangular and square table tops the length of the frames is equal to the depth of the table tops or slightly smaller and the frames are arranged on both narrow sides at right angles to the longitudinal struts (Fig. 2). 7. Kit according to one of claims 3 or 4, characterized in that in the case of trapezoidal table tops, one of the frames is arranged at a right angle and the other at an acute angle of 45 degrees to the longitudinal direction of the longitudinal struts (Fig. 3). 47-26-dB (a) - j - 8. Kit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in a) that the rear corners of the table tops are cut off, b) that approximately triangular plate-like filler pieces (70, 84) are provided, which in particular have rounded corners and can be fastened to the table tops instead of the rear corners. Kit according to claim 8, characterized in that in the case of trapezoidal table tops, a cut-off tip (86) of the acute-angled table top part and a filler piece (84) of lesser depth than the cut-off tip serve to reduce the depth of the beveled edge to a standard size (Fig. 8 and 12). 10. Kit according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in a) that at the rear ends of the frames there are provided insertion openings (72) accessible from above for vertical supports (74) and superstructures, b) and that the insertion openings, where not required, are each covered by a filler piece (70, 84). Kit according to claim 5, characterized in a) that, to form a workstation with an outer edge facing away from the user, which forms a right angle, a table top according to claim 5 is inserted between the triangular hypotenuses of two table tops according to claim 4, b) that the inserted table top is to be attached to the frames (14) between the two other plates by means of retaining tabs (67).
