Process for the preparation of peroxides of the ascaridol type In
the patent 752,437 is a process for the preparation of endoperoxides of the type des
Askaridols described, which is characterized in that one has a solution of
a-terpinene, useful in alcohols, in the presence of sensitizing, the attachment
of oxygen-promoting substances under the influence of sunlight or others
active rays treated with oxygen and the endoperoxide from the reaction mixture
separates. It has proven to be of advantage that the reaction can be carried out in large quantities
Dilution and with the addition of substances that lead to the formation of polymeric peroxides
counteract, like toluene.
erfolgenden heftigen Rufsiedens. It has now been found that, instead of a-terpinene, other
similarly built dienes, especially those of the terpene series, e.g. B. a-Phellandren,
Cyclohexadiene- (i, 3), terpinolene and the like, subject to the process of the main patent
can. and thereby receives monomolecular peroxides. These end products show when heated
in the test tube the behavior peculiar to the ascaridol, often accompanied by flames
the violent boiling that followed.
Beispiel 2 48,5 g
Cyclohexadien-(i, 3), wurden in Gegenwart von i g Methylenblau in 2500 ccm
Harzes.Example i 50 g of a-Phellandren were shaken in the presence of 0.5 g of methylene blue in 1500 cc of isopropyl alcohol under oxygen and with exposure to a 300 watt incandescent lamp. Oxygen uptake came to a standstill with a consumption of 5640 ccm O $ (0 ° / 76o mm) after 35 hours, after the first 5340 ccm had already been consumed in 25 hours. The solvent was then removed at a bath temperature of 40 ° using a Vigreux column in the vacuum of the water jet pump. 57 g of a blue-colored liquid with a peculiar odor remained. The crude peroxide obtained was distilled in a high vacuum. This gave 18.9 g of yellow peroxide passing over between 48 and 64 ° at 0.07 mm, ii g of a still blue-colored strongly peroxidic residue and, in the trap cooled to -80 °, 18.3 g of unreacted starting material. The fraction (i -, ig) passed over between 62 and 64 ° at 0.1 mm represents the phellandrene endoperoxide, n D = 1.4812, d20 = 1.0139. Example 2 48.5 g of cyclohexadiene (i, 3 ), were shaken in the presence of ig methylene blue in 2500 cc isopropanol under oxygen and with exposure to a 300 watt incandescent lamp. Oxygen uptake came to a standstill after 6960 cc of oxygen (o / 76 o mm) had been consumed in 10 days. The solvent and unreacted cyclohexadiene were then removed from a bath at 35 ° using a Vigreux column in the vacuum of the water jet pump. The remaining blue-colored liquid with a peculiar odor was distilled in a high vacuum. In this case, at 36 ° and 0.1 mm, 8.1 g of cyclohexadiene peroxide were transferred over, n ö = 1.5o28, d ? ° = 1.1564. A further 1.3 g of peroxide were found in the initial charge (-80 °). 13.4 g of a viscous, peroxidic resin remained undistillable.
Ausgangsmaterials abhängende Ausbeute beträgt 4o bis 6o g.Example 3 80 g of a-pyrones are exposed to the total luminous flux of a mercury vapor lamp of the "Osram HgH 2ooo" type in the presence of ig methylene blue in 2 liters of isopropanol while oxygen is being passed through. About 75% of the calculated oxygen is absorbed in 3½ to 4 hours. The solvent is then removed in vacuo at a bath temperature not exceeding 50 ° and the u-pyronendoperoxide formed is distilled in a high vacuum at the lowest possible temperature. It goes z. B. at a bath temperature of 60 ° and a vacuum of 10-3 Torr at 41 to 48 ° above; (n B = =, 477, dp = i, o2). The yield, which depends on the purity of the starting material, is 40 to 60 g.
ß-Pyronenendoperoxyd; nö = 1,49.When heated in a test tube over a free flame, the substance undergoes vigorous self-decomposition; it releases iodine from acidified potassium iodide solution. EXAMPLE 4 30 g of β-pyrones are exposed in the presence of 0.05 to 0.2 g of methylene blue in 2 l of isopropanol while passing oxygen through with the total luminous flux of a mercury vapor lamp of nHgH 50000 which is surrounded by a glass water cooling system. 21/2 to 3 liters of oxygen are absorbed in 1 hour. The work-up is carried out according to Example 3 and about 20 g of distilled ß-pyronendoperoxide are obtained after high vacuum distillation; no = 1.49.
