Stackable corrugated cardboard pallet

The invention/innovation relates to a stackable pallet made of corrugated cardboard, in particular a disposable pallet.

The usual wooden pallets are well known. The pallets are usually taken back by the suppliers and used multiple times. The wooden pallets are hardly suitable as disposable pallets because they are too bulky to be waste and can at best be used as firewood.

On the other hand, it is possible to consider making pallets out of metal and/or plastic. However, due to the latest legal provisions on packaging, efforts are being made to use packaging that is as recyclable as possible, and therefore also recyclable pallets. When designing such recyclable pallets, certain conditions, particularly those specified by the user, must be taken into account, such as a minimum load-bearing capacity of the pallet and specified dimensions so that the resulting pallet can be moved using standard lifting equipment.

The object of the present invention/innovation is to create an improved stackable pallet, in particular a disposable pallet, which on the one hand is relatively inexpensive to manufacture and has sufficient stability for practical use, while on the other hand the resulting pallet should also be recyclable.

The object is achieved according to the invention/innovation by a stackable pallet made of corrugated cardboard, which has the following features:

A pallet base and at least two pallet feet that are approximately V-shaped in cross-section, of which a first pallet foot extends from a first side edge of an upper part of the pallet base to a lower part of the pallet base, while a second pallet foot is arranged offset inwards relative to second or third side edges of the upper part or the lower part of the pallet base in such a way that a ramp as

a lateral extension of the pallet floor is formed.

Advantageous further developments of this stackable pallet according to the invention/innovation emerge from the subclaims.

The stackable pallet according to the invention/innovation is, apart from a few staples and/or some glue, completely recyclable. The V-shaped design of, for example, two pallet feet that run essentially along the sides of the pallet creates corresponding edges that give the pallet sufficient stability. Due to the good inherent stability of the pallet feet, they can be designed with a relatively small width, so that there is enough space between at least two pallet feet for the forks of a lifting device to be inserted. The fact that the pallet according to the invention/innovation has a side ramp in the form of a side extension of the pallet base, i.e. a ramp that protrudes outwards from one of the side pallet feet, also makes it easy to stack these pallets on top of one another, whereby the stackability is guaranteed both with products stored on the pallets and without products. In the latter case, the empty pallets can be stacked several times on top of each other for transport purposes, with the required stability being provided in the resulting stack.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention/innovation, a third, similar pallet foot, also approximately V-shaped in cross-section, is provided in an area between the first pallet foot and the second pallet foot, either directly adjacent to the second pallet foot or at a relatively small distance from it. In this pallet design, in particular, an intermediate part connecting the second pallet foot and the third pallet foot, which is relatively short and runs in a plane with the lower part of the pallet base, can be provided. In this case, the second pallet foot and the third pallet foot preferably have a substantially W-shaped cross-section together. In the pallet design with a total of three pallet feet, the load-bearing capacity of the resulting pallet can be increased to at least 200 kg, for example. Even in the case of the pallet design with a total of three V-shaped pallet feet, their mutual arrangement is chosen in such a way that the resulting pallet can be driven under with the forks of a lifting device etc. and that stackability is ensured, in a way as already described above.

Since this pallet is specifically intended to be used as a disposable pallet, its inexpensive manufacture is particularly important.

For this reason, in the case of the two-legged pallet, according to an advantageous development of the invention/innovation, it is provided that the first pallet foot, the second pallet foot, the upper part and the

The lower part of the pallet base and the side sections of the upper part or lower part forming the ramp together consist of a first, single, folded corrugated cardboard cut-out. On the other hand, in the case of a three-legged pallet, the first pallet foot, the second pallet foot, the third pallet foot, the upper part and the lower part of the pallet base, the intermediate part connecting the second and third pallet feet and the side sections of the upper part or lower part forming the ramp together consist of a first, single, folded corrugated cardboard cut-out.

In both versions, i.e. both the two- and three-foot pallet, an additional corrugated cardboard insert part can be arranged with particular advantage between the upper part and the lower part with the first and second pallet feet assigned to it or the first, second and third pallet feet assigned to it, which consists of a second, single, folded corrugated cardboard blank. The resulting pallet in each case consists of a total of two corrugated cardboard blanks, which can be folded, glued and/or stapled, in particular by hand.

For the purpose of further reinforcement and stabilization of the resulting, stackable pallet, a corresponding V-shaped reinforcement insert is preferably provided in the area of the second pallet foot and, if necessary, also in the area of the third pallet foot, which consists of a third, folded piece of corrugated cardboard.

In addition, it is advantageous if each of the at least two pallet feet has V-shaped legs that are angled at the same angle to the pallet floor. For example, in the case of the two-legged pallet, the first and second pallet feet each have outer and inner legs that are angled at the same angle to the pallet floor.

A particularly advantageous further embodiment of the stackable pallet according to the present invention/innovation is that the corrugated cardboard insert part has a continuously flat central section which extends between the upper part and the lower part with the first and second pallet feet assigned to it or with the first, second and third pallet feet assigned to it, a reinforcing leg angled laterally from the central section which rests on the inside against the outer leg of the first pallet foot, and also a ramp section in the area between the respective ramp sections of the upper part and lower part of the pallet base. As a result, the corrugated cardboard insert part between the upper part and lower part of the pallet base is completely enclosed by the first folded corrugated cardboard blank forming the respective pallet feet.

This also further improves the stability, especially with regard to the desired stackability of the resulting disposable pallet.

On the other hand, since the resulting pallet should have a relatively low weight, inside each of the at least two

It is particularly preferable that the corrugated cardboard of the first, second and third corrugated cardboard blanks is a double-wall corrugated cardboard, whereby it is also advantageous if the grooves of the first, second and third corrugated cardboard blanks are each oriented essentially perpendicular to the edges of the respective pallet feet. The last-mentioned features also contribute to increasing stability.

It is also advantageous if the adjacent areas of the first, second and third corrugated cardboard cuts are glued and/or stapled together, in particular at the center of gravity or at predetermined fastening areas. Such gluing and/or stapling points ensure that the various corrugated cardboard layers do not slip against each other in the areas subject to heavy loads, which is also very desirable, in particular for reasons of stability.

Furthermore, cases are conceivable in which the resulting supporting surface of the pallet base is to be loaded preferably or exclusively in the middle area, so that from this point of view, according to a further embodiment of the invention/innovation, it is also provided that an additional corrugated cardboard plate is glued to the upper part of the pallet base, which has a cut corresponding to the support surface. This results in the desired increase in the load-bearing capacity of the resulting pallet.

Preferred floor plan dimensions for the stackable pallet according to the invention/innovation are 600 mm x 400 mm or 600 mm x 800 mm or 580 mm x 380 mm.

The total height of the respective pallets is preferably 120 mm, while the clear height below the bottom part of the pallet is preferably 100 mm.

In the case of a pallet footprint of 600 mm x 400 mm or 600 mm x 800 mm, a ratio of the length of the pallet base to the length of the ramp of 6:1 is preferably selected.

On the other hand, in the case of a pallet footprint of 580 mm x 380 mm, a ratio of the length of the pallet base to the length of the ramp of 6.5:1 is preferably chosen.

Furthermore, the stackable pallets according to the present invention/innovation preferably have a load-bearing capacity in the range between approximately 100 and at least 200 kg.

The invention/innovation is explained in more detail below using exemplary embodiments, with reference to the attached drawing.

The stackable disposable pallet 1 shown in Fig. 1 consists of a total of three corrugated cardboard blanks, which can be seen in the opened state in plan view in Figs. 3, 4 and 5.

The disposable pallet 1 shown in Fig. 1 is a two-legged pallet, i.e. a pallet with a pallet base 2 and a first pallet foot 10 and a second pallet foot 11, whereby these pallet feet 10 and 11 each have essentially the same, approximately V-shaped cross-sections. Each of these pallet feet 10 and 11 has V-shaped legs that are angled in the same way relative to the pallet base 2, i.e. the first pallet foot 10 on the right-hand side of Fig. 1 has an outer leg 12 and an inner leg 13 and the pallet foot 11 on the left-hand side of Fig. 1 has an outer leg 14 and an inner leg 15.

The first pallet foot 10 extends from a first side edge 26 of an upper part 4 of the pallet base 2 to a lower part 5 of the pallet base 2, while the second pallet foot 11 opposite

This lateral ramp 7 with the thickness of the pallet base 2 thus consists of a lateral section 4' of the upper part 4, a lateral section 5' of the lower part 5, but also of a ramp section 6' of a corrugated cardboard insert part 6, which is located between the two lateral sections 4' and 5' and is to be explained further below. Here, the folding line 17 of the corrugated cardboard blank according to Fig. 3 results in a setting edge of the first
pallet foot 10 according to Fig. 1, while the fold line 16 results in the corresponding positioning edge of the second pallet foot 11 according to Fig. 1 in the course of folding the corrugated cardboard blank. The fold line 26 thus results in the first side edge of the upper part 4, the fold line 17' forms the transition between the inner leg 13 of the first pallet foot 10 and the lower part 5,
Furthermore, the fold line 16' forms the transition between the inner leg 15 of the second pallet foot 11 and

the lower part 5, while finally the fold line 16 '' forms the transition between the outer leg 14 of the second pallet foot 11 and the lateral section 5' of the lower part 5. The side edges 25 and 25' of the corrugated cardboard blank according to Fig. 3 thus result in the second side edge 25 of the upper part 4 and the third side edge 25' of the lower part 5 of the pallet base 2.

The disposable pallet 1 according to Fig. 1 also has an additional corrugated cardboard insert part 6, which consists of a second corrugated cardboard blank folded along a fold line 26' and which comes to lie between the upper part 4 and the lower part 5 of the pallet base 2, as shown in Fig. 1. In particular, this corrugated cardboard insert part 6 has a continuously flat middle section which extends between the upper part 4 and the lower part 5 and lies tightly against them. Furthermore, this corrugated cardboard insert part 6 has a reinforcing leg 9 which is angled laterally from the middle section along the fold line 26 ' and which lies tightly against the inside of the outer leg 12 of the first pallet foot 10. Furthermore, as already briefly mentioned above, the corrugated cardboard insert part 6 has the ramp section 6' located between the two lateral ramp sections 4' and 5' of the upper part 4 and lower part 5 of the pallet base 2.

Furthermore, it can be seen from Fig. 1 that a corresponding V-shaped reinforcing insert 9' is provided in the area of the second pallet foot 11, which consists of a third, folded corrugated cardboard blank according to Fig. 5

This corrugated cardboard cut-out can be folded along a central fold line 9'' so that two V-shaped legs are created, which lie tightly against the inside of the inner leg 15 and the outer leg 14 of the second pallet foot 11.

Preferably, the adjacent areas of the first corrugated cardboard blank according to Fig. 3, the second corrugated cardboard blank according to Fig. 4 and the third corrugated cardboard blank according to Fig. 5 in the resulting pallet according to Fig. 1 are glued together, for example in specially specified fastening areas (which is not shown in Fig. 1 for the sake of simplicity), but under certain circumstances are also stapled together using staples. Due to the configuration of the three folded and, as it were, nested corrugated cardboard blanks shown in cross section in Fig. 1, the resulting, stackable disposable pallet 1 is extremely stable, with a double-wall corrugated cardboard 32 according to Fig. 6 preferably being used for each of the corrugated cardboard blanks according to Figs. 3, 4 and 5.

Furthermore, Fig. 1 also shows that in the interior of the first V-shaped pallet foot 10 and the second, also V-shaped pallet foot 11, hollow spaces 30 and 31 are formed which are triangular in cross section, i.e. in the case of the first pallet foot 10, a hollow space 30 which is essentially surrounded by the inner leg 13, the reinforcing leg 9 and an adjacent section of the corrugated cardboard insert part 6.

Similarly, the cavity 31 is delimited by the two legs of the reinforcing insert 9' and an adjacent area of the corrugated cardboard insert part 6.

From Figs. 3, 4 and 5 it can also be seen that the grooves 27 of the first corrugated cardboard blank, the grooves 28 of the second corrugated cardboard blank and the grooves 29 of the third corrugated cardboard blank are each oriented essentially perpendicular to the respective positioning edges 17 and 16 of the first pallet foot 10 and the second pallet foot 11.

From Fig. 7 it is clear how the disposable pallets 1 can be stacked on top of one another according to the first embodiment shown in Fig. 1, whereby in the present case the stacking takes place without products, i.e. the disposable pallets 1 are stacked on top of one another for the purpose of transport. According to Fig. 7, for example, five disposable pallets 1 are stacked on top of one another in such a way that two pallet bases 2 lie directly on top of one another, whereby the bottom pallet 1 is placed with its two pallet feet 10 and 11 on a floor surface 3 3. The second pallet 1 following upwards stretches its two pallet feet 10 and 11 in opposite directions, i.e. i.e., upwards and the third pallet 1 that follows has its two pallet feet extended downwards again, in such a way that one pallet foot of a lower pallet and one pallet foot of an upper pallet together form a kind of diamond-shaped

order, as can be seen on the left or right side according to Fig. 7. A corresponding arrangement also applies to the fourth and fifth disposable pallets 1 that follow further up.

It should also be mentioned that two consecutive disposable pallets 1 are stacked on top of each other in such a way that their ramps 7 are directed alternately to the right and to the left.

As mentioned, this is a stacking arrangement for transport purposes.

Fig. 8, on the other hand, shows a stacking method that is selected when the respective disposable pallets are initially filled with any unspecified products 34 and 35, more precisely, these products are placed directly on the corresponding storage areas 3 (cf. Fig. 1) of each pallet base 2 of the disposable pallets 1.

The bottom disposable pallet 1 according to Fig. 8 comes with its two pallet feet 10 and 11 again on a floor surface 33 for support, followed by a second disposable pallet 1, seen from above, whose pallet feet 10 and 11 are supported on the products 34 and arranged on the bottom pallet 1. In a corresponding manner, the second pallet in this stack is followed by a top third pallet, which in turn is supported with its two

Pallet feet 10 and 11 support the products located on the middle pallet 1 as shown in Fig.

The stacking system shown in Fig. 8 is one that is used particularly in high-rise warehouses.

As can be seen here, the respective ramps 7 of the disposable pallets stacked on top of one another extend in the same direction, thus to the right according to Fig. 8.

Finally, Fig. 9 shows a further embodiment of a stackable disposable pallet according to the present invention/innovation. In contrast to the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, this is a "three-legged" pallet, in which a third, similar pallet foot 40, also approximately V-shaped in cross-section, is provided on the underside of the pallet base 2 in an area between the first pallet foot 10 and the second pallet foot 11, which is arranged at a relatively small distance from the second pallet foot 11. However, it could also be provided that this third pallet foot 40 is arranged more or less directly adjacent to the second pallet foot 11. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the second pallet foot 11 is also arranged offset inwards relative to the second and third side edges 25 and 25' of the upper part 4 and the lower part 5 of the pallet base 2 in such a way that the

Ramp 7 is created as a lateral extension of the pallet floor 2.

In the same way as in the embodiment according to Fig. 1, the first pallet foot 10 extends from the first side edge 26 of the upper part 4 of the pallet base 2 to the lower part 5. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 9, between the second pallet foot 11 and the third pallet foot 40 there is a relatively short intermediate part 44 connecting these two pallet feet and running in the same plane as the lower part 5 of the pallet base 2.

As the cross-sectional view according to Fig. 9 shows, the second pallet foot 11 and the third pallet foot 40 together form a substantially W-shaped cross-section.

Furthermore, in the present embodiment according to Fig. 9, the first pallet foot 10, the second pallet foot 11, the third pallet foot 40, the upper part 4 and the lower part 5 of the pallet base 2, the intermediate part 44 connecting the second and third pallet feet 11 and 40 and the lateral sections 4' and 5' of the upper part 4 and the lower part 5 forming the ramp 7 together consist of a first, single, folded corrugated cardboard blank.

Furthermore, between the upper part 4 and the lower part 5 with the associated first, second and third pallet feet 10, 11 and 40, an additional

A second corrugated cardboard insert part 6 is arranged, which consists of a second, single folded corrugated cardboard blank. In this respect, the design is the same as for the disposable pallets according to Fig. 1.

In the present embodiment, a corresponding V-shaped reinforcement insert 9' is provided both in the area of the second pallet foot 11 and in the area of the third pallet foot 40, each of which consists of a third, folded piece of corrugated cardboard (see Fig. 5).

Compared to the embodiment according to Fig. 1, the embodiment according to Fig. 9 differs in that now two such reinforcing inserts 9' are used for the corresponding pallet feet 11 and 40.

Thus, the present stackable disposable pallet consists of a total of four corrugated cardboard cut-outs.

Each of the three pallet feet 10, 11 and 40 has V-shaped legs 12, 13, 14, 15, 41 and 42 that are angled in the same way relative to the pallet base 2, with a hollow space 30, 31 or 45 with a triangular cross section being formed inside each of the three pallet feet 10 or 40.

The three-legged pallet according to Fig. 9 thus has a total of three adjusting edges, i.e. the adjusting edge 17 of the first pallet foot 10, the adjusting edge 16 of the second pallet foot 11 and the adjusting edge 43 of the third pallet foot 40.

Preferably, a double-walled corrugated cardboard (see Fig. 6) is used for the three corrugated cardboard blanks in the disposable pallet according to Fig. 9. The adjacent areas of these three corrugated cardboard blanks are glued and/or stapled together, in particular at the center of gravity or at predetermined fastening areas.

Exclusively glued versions are now preferred.

Since there are applications for the disposable pallet shown in Fig. 9 in which the upper storage area 3 for products is to be loaded exclusively in a central area, an additional corrugated cardboard plate 36 can be provided, which has a cut corresponding to the storage area 3 for products and which can preferably be glued to the upper part 4 of the pallet base 2. With the help of such a corrugated cardboard plate 36, an increase in the load-bearing capacity of the pallet can be achieved.

Furthermore, in the embodiment of the stackable disposable pallet according to Fig. 9, the aspect was also taken into account that this pallet can be driven under using the forks of common lifting devices and can also be stacked in the manner already explained above with reference to Figs. 7 and 8.

In other words, the disposable pallets in the embodiment according to Fig. 9 can be used either without products (see Fig. 7) or with the respective

Products arranged on the respective shelves 3 (see Fig. 8) are stacked on top of each other.

The third embodiment of a stackable disposable pallet 1 shown in Fig. 10 is also a "three-legged ^" pallet, which has a pallet base 2, two pallet feet 10, 11 with an approximately V-shaped cross section on a first side edge 26 and on a second side edge 25 of the pallet base, and a support foot 37 located centrally between the two lateral pallet feet 10 and 11, the cross section of which is also essentially V-shaped. The two lateral pallet feet 10 and 11 are designed in such a way that they each have outer legs 12 and 14 angled at essentially equal acute angles OC and OC' relative to the pallet base 2, and inner legs 13 and 15 angled at essentially equal obtuse angles Jo and /3 .

Furthermore, it is provided that the two lateral pallet feet 10 and 11, the middle support foot 37, the lower parts 5a and 5b of the pallet base 2 connecting two pallet feet (i.e. the pallet foot 10 and the support foot 37 or the pallet foot 11 and the support foot 37) to each other, as well as an upper part 4 of the pallet base defining an essentially flat support surface 3 consist of a single, folded corrugated cardboard blank, which in the area of the upper part 4 has a joint 21 in the

plane of symmetry of the support foot 37. In addition, a corrugated cardboard insert part 6 is arranged between the upper part 4 and the two lower parts 5a and 5b of the pallet base 2. This corrugated cardboard insert part 6 also consists of a single, folded piece of corrugated cardboard and has a continuously flat central section which extends under the entire upper part 4 of the pallet base 2, as well as two lateral reinforcing legs 8 and 9, which are each angled at essentially equally large acute angles Jr and J^ relative to the central section and which each come to rest on the inside of the outer legs 14 and 12 of the lateral pallet feet 11 and 10. The support foot 37 located centrally between the two lateral pallet feet 10 and 11 is designed symmetrically to the plane of symmetry running through the joint 21 and has two legs 18 and 19 defining a V-shaped cross-section, the fold line of which forms a central adjusting edge 20.

In a corresponding manner, in the pallet foot 10 shown on the right in Fig. 10, the fold line between the outer leg 12 there and the inner leg 13 forms a positioning edge 17, while in the pallet foot 11 shown on the left in Fig. 10, the outer leg 14 there defines a further positioning edge 16 with the inner leg 15.

The first side edge 26 and in the same way the second side edge 25 of the pallet base 2 are also by corresponding fold lines of the first

corrugated cardboard blanks.

As is also indicated in Fig. 10, the adjacent areas of the two corrugated cardboard blanks are stapled together at predetermined points of the staple 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b. Alternatively, or in addition, these corrugated cardboard parts can also be glued together.

A stackable pallet in the embodiment shown in Fig. 10 preferably has a footprint of 600 mm x 800 mm. The load-bearing capacity of the pallet base 2 is approximately 200 kg,

Claims (27)

Protection claims: 1. Stackable pallet made of corrugated cardboard, in particular a disposable pallet, with a pallet base (2) and at least two pallet feet (10, 11) which are approximately V-shaped in cross section, of which a first pallet foot (10) extends from a first side edge (26) of an upper part (4) of the pallet base (2) to a lower part (5) of the pallet base (2), while a second pallet foot (11) is arranged offset inwards relative to second and third side edges (25 and 25') of the upper part (4) and the lower part (5) of the pallet base (2) in such a way that a ramp (7) is formed as a lateral extension of the pallet base (2). 2. Stackable pallet according to claim 1, characterized in that in an area between the first pallet foot (10) and the second pallet foot (11), either directly adjacent to the second pallet foot (11) or at a relatively small distance from it, a third, similar pallet foot (40) is provided, which is also approximately V-shaped in cross section. 3. Stackable pallet according to claim 2, characterized by the second pallet foot (11) and the third -2- Relatively short intermediate part (44) connecting the pallet foot (40) and running in the same plane as the lower part (5) of the pallet base (2). 4.
