As already mentioned, the packaging is in book form and manufactured using a plastic film thermoforming process. A printed brochure, which can be inserted into the cassette, serves as an advertising and information medium.

If you want to remove the cassette, the "book packaging" is opened, the cassette is removed and the packaging is closed again.

Division of tasks

It is necessary to develop a packaging that has the same function as the packaging used so far, namely protective
and advertising function. The packaging must also meet the following requirements:

1. The packaging should be made from environmentally friendly materials so that it can be recycled after use

2. The new packaging should have the same shape as the existing one so that the consumer does not have to change his mind

These requirements are met by the invention described below.

Description of the invention

The packaging consists of 2 parts, the inside part and the book cover.

The blanks shown in FIGS 1+3 are glued on both sides by the packaging manufacturer on conventional gluing machines and converted into the state as shown in FIGS 2 + A.

At the user's site, the blank is erected into a tray as shown in FIG 5a.

When erecting, the surfaces 1.1.2 - 1.1.3 - 1.2.2 1.2.3 are folded upwards by 90°. The surfaces 1.1.4 and 1.2.4 are then folded downwards by 180°, the locking tabs 1.1.6 and 1.2.6 snap into the cutouts 1.1.7 and 1.2.7 and the stabilizing strips 1.1.5 and 1.2.5 are folded over by 90° in relation to the surfaces 1.1.4 and 1.2.4.

The next step is, as shown in FIG 5a, closing the inner part. This is done by folding the two surfaces 1.1.1 and 1.2.1 upwards by 90° so that these two surfaces are arranged parallel to each other. When folding up, the folding mechanism 1.3 is folded inwards.

Now, as shown in FIG. 5a, the closed inner part is placed on the book spine surface 2.2. When feeding the book cover, glue is applied to the two book cover surfaces and, as shown in FIG. 5c, glued to the two surfaces of the inner part 1.1.1 and 1.2.1.

If the inner part were to be glued to the book cover when it was open, a tension would build up that would work against the closing of the packaging. For this reason, the inner part is glued to the book cover when it is closed, as the tensions built up (restoring forces) work against the opening of the packaging, which is a desired effect.
