Beim Rückspulen kehrt sich die Drehrichtung des Zählwerks um, das nunmehr wieder bis zur Ausgangsstelle zurückläuft. In der Ausgangsstelle ist ein Kontakt angeordnet, welcher von dem Zählwerk betätigt wird und den Bandrücklauf beendet und das Bandlaufwerk überhaupt stillsetzt oder gleichzeitig auf Vorwärtslauf umschaltet.
