Description

The invention relates to a bottle brush according to the preamble of claim 1.

In the well-known bottle brushes of this type, the handle is formed by the wire coils that hold the bristles of the brush part. The plastic handle is attached to the rear end of this wire coiled handle. The wire coiled handle has little rigidity. If the brush part is pressed against the inside wall of the bottle with radial pressure when cleaning bottles, the handle gives way. This means that no greater radial pressure can be exerted with the brush part, so that stubborn dirt can only be removed with difficulty.

In addition, the handle, which consists of wire coils, can be easily bent.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a bottle brush which has a high rigidity and stability of the handle while being inexpensive to manufacture.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a bottle brush of the type mentioned at the outset by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

The bottle brush according to the invention has a handle made of plastic, which is very stable and strong. The brush part with its wire ends is inserted into the front end of the handle. Due to the high rigidity and stability of the handle, the bottle brush can also exert strong radial pressure against the inner wall of the surface to be cleaned without the handle giving way or bending.

The handle can be manufactured inexpensively as a plastic injection-molded part. The brush part is inserted with its wire windings into the front end of the handle and is thermally

Welding or anchored by ultrasonic welding.

In a particularly cost-effective design, the handle is made in one piece with the shaft. The handle and shaft can be manufactured in a single injection molding process in a single mold.

In this embodiment, the handle, which is provided with an axially through-bore ^, can be pushed onto the shaft part from the rear and held axially on the shaft part by an eyelet part which is snapped onto the rear end of the handle. This embodiment becomes even simpler if the handle is snapped directly onto the shaft part, with a collar of the shaft part holding the handle axially so that it can rotate.

In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the bottle brush has a handle 2, at the rear end of which there is an eyelet 9 for hanging the bottle brush. A straight shaft 1 is connected to the front end of the handle 2. The handle 2 and the shaft 1 are injection-molded in one piece from plastic. The shaft 1 is flattened in cross-section on two opposite sides. The shaft 1 can also have a round or oval cross-section or another cross-section that ensures high flexural rigidity.

A brush part 5 consists of wire windings 4 twisted together in a helical manner, which hold the bristles of the brush part 5. The wire windings 4 are inserted into an axial blind hole in the front end 3 of the handle 1 and welded thermally or by ultrasound to the end of the handle.

In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, the plastic handle 1 of the bottle brush is cranked. The section of the handle 1 behind the crank 6 is designed as a shaft part 7 with

round cross-section and has a radially protruding collar 8 at its rear end. The handle 2 is designed as a separate part with a continuous cylindrical inner bore. The handle 2 sits loosely on the shaft part 7 in order to enable the crank-like bottle brush to be easily rotated in the bottle to be cleaned.

During production, the separately molded handle 2 is pushed from behind onto the shaft part 7 of the handle 1. Then a separately molded eyelet part 10, which has the eyelet 9, is snapped onto the collar 8 of the shaft part 7. The handle 2 is thus fixed axially on the shaft part 7 between the eyelet part 10 and the crank 6 of the handle.

The brush part 5 is anchored with its wire windings 4 in the front end of the handle 3 in the same way as in the embodiment according to Figure 1.

The embodiment of Figure 3 is modified compared to the embodiment of Figure 2 in that the collar 8 is formed close to the crank 6 on the shaft part 7. The handle 2 has a blind hole with which it is attached to the shaft part 7. An undercut of the blind hole snaps over the collar 8 so that the handle 2 can be rotated on the shaft part 7, but is secured against axial displacement by the collar 8. This design is even more economical in terms of manufacture and assembly, since the eyelet part 10 of Figure 2 is omitted.
