Gerade im Küchenbereich kann es leicht zu einer Feuchtigkeitsaufnahme durch das Holz kommen, was auf Dauer zu Verwerfungen der Leisten führt. Man hat deshalb schon die Möbel- oder Ausbauteile entlang ihrer Ränder mit Holzimitaten versehen, indem man die Plattenränder ähnlich der Kontur einer echten Holzleiste befräst und auf die derart ausgeformten Kanten eine Kunststoff-Folie aufgeklebt hat, die an ihrer Sichtseite mit einer Holzmaserung bedruckt war. Insbesondere bei gewölbten Plattenkanten sind solche Folien nur schwer anzubringen, und an den Plattenecken ist es schwierig, einen sauberen Stoß zwischen den aneinandergrenzenden Kunststoff-Folien herzustellen. Zudem bleibt auch immer die Stoßfuge zwischen dem Material der Grundplatte und der darauf aufgeklebten Kunststoff-Folie sichtbar, was den qualitativen Eindruck solcher Möbelteile mindert. Allerdings läßt sich mit den bedruckten Kunststoff-Folien der Holzcharakter sehr gut nachbilden. ten der plattenförmigen Möbel- oder Ausbauteile durch Vollkunststoff leisten gebildet werden, die sich leicht verarbeiten, insbesondere dauerhaft verkleben und ohne Schwierigkeiten bündig an den Plattenober- und -Unterseiten fräsen lassen. Die Nachbildung einer Holzoberfläche kommt dabei erst durch den Anschnitt dieser Leisten zustande, die nach dem dafür üblichen Befräsen ohne weitere Bearbeitung oberflächenfertig sind. Zwar bestände grundsätzlich die Möglichkeit die in Rede stehenden Kunststoffleisten in der jeweils benötigten, endgültigen Umrißgestalt zu extrudieren, damit würde jedoch nicht das holzartige Aussehen erreicht, weil der Maserungsverlauf ähnlich wie bei Echtholz auch, erst durch einen Anschnitt freigelegt wird. Insoweit erfüll* hier die Befräsung der Kunststoffkanten der plattenförmigen Möbel- oder Ausbauteile eine Doppelfunktion, indem nämlich die an den Werkstückkanten angebrachten Vollkunststoffleisten sowohl ihre endgültige Umrißgestalt erhalten, als auch unter optischer Freilegung der ineinandergeflossenen, verwirbelten Materialströme der unterschiedlich eingefärbten Kunststoffwerkstoffe, die Nachbildung einer Holzoberfläche erzielt wird.
