Sie unterscheidet sich von allen bisherigen mechanischen (Pfeilen) und elektromechanischen (Winkern, Zeigern) Fahrtrichtungsanzeigern dadurch, daß links und rechts je zwei (vorn und rückwärts) stationäre Lichter, überdeckt mit einer roten. bzw. orange durchscheinenden Kapsel, nach vorn bzw. rückwärts sowie der entsprechenden Seite leuchtend angebracht werden. Die Stromversorgung erfolgt bei Motorfahrzeugen über die Lichtanlage unter Zwischenschaltung eines Kompensations.widerstandies bei Nichtbenutzung des Scheinwerfers. Bei Fahrrädern wird der Strom der Batterie oder dem Dynamo entnommen. Die Bedienung der Richtungsanzeiger erfolgt durch zwei einzelne Ausschalter an, den Lenkstangengriffen oder durch einen Doppelschalter an der Steuersäule.
