Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
C = 53,05, gef. 52,93 und 52,98 pCt, H ber. .3,05, gef. 3,66 und 3,66 pCt.), und ist demnach als ein Methylenditannin aufzufassen, welches sich der GleichungIf tannin is absorbed in a solvent, formaldehyde is passed in as a gas or added in aqueous solution, the addition of a condensation agent, e.g. B. hydrochloric acid, a new chemical compound as a reddish-white precipitate; the same provides a weifsröthliches, light powder represents, which decomposes at about 230 0, and which BEZW of water and common organic solvents, with the exception of alcohol, not at all, from dilute ammonia. Soda and caustic soda with yellow respectively. Brown-red color is absorbed and separated from these solutions by acids. If the condensation product (0.01 g) is heated with concentrated sulfuric acid (2 cbcm), it dissolves with a brown color, which on further heating changes to green and then to blue. The green or blue sulfuric acid solution gives with alcohol a splendid blue color, which after a time turns to wine red, while it turns grass green with dilute sodium hydroxide solution. The condensation product dried at 102 0 has the composition C 29 H 20 O 18 (calc. C = 53.05, found 52.93 and 52.98 pCt, H calc. 3.05, found 3.66 and 3 , 66 pCt.), And is therefore to be understood as a methylenditannin, which conforms to the equation

entsprechend gebildet hat.has formed accordingly.
Example: 5 kg of tannin are used in heifsem Dissolved water, - 10 kg approx. 3 oCt · formaldehyde added, and then concentrated hydrochloric acid added as long as there was still a precipitate arises; the precipitate is washed and squeezed off in the filter press and then dried at not too high temperature. The yield is almost quantitative.
Tannin ruft aufThe preparation should be used as a medicinal product, since it is based on "the judgment various well-known clinicians as an excellent remedy for both internal administration against intestinal catarrh, as with external application against excessive tail secretion (tail feet etc.), weeping rashes, foul-smelling wounds, as well as generally having an antiseptic, disinfecting effect and drying agent has proven its worth, so that according to the pronouncement of the authorities concerned up to now there is no remedy in the medicinal treasure, which such an excellent and has a strange effect. Before the tannin in solution, pure or in mixtures, it has the great advantage that it is effective against protein substances, mucous membranes, glue, peptone, Phlegm, etc. behaves indifferently, and is therefore able to develop its effects wherever the tannin immediately coherent with the tissue-forming substances due to its property, Forming solid, insoluble bonds is rendered ineffective. This is how the tannin becomes z. B. immediately bound to proteinaceous substances in the stomach and cannot be used in an effective form enter the intestines. Tannin calls
