Beim Transport bzw. Schleifen auf dem Boden liegenden stangenförmigen Guts ergibt sich vielfach die Beschwernis, daß sich die Stangen an im Wege liegenden oder stehenden Gegenständen verfangen und damit den Weitertransport behindern. Diese Beschwernis tritt vor allem bei der Waldarbeit auf, wenn gefällte Baumstämme vermittels eines Zugseils, dessen eines Ende mit den Stämmen und dessen anderes Ende mit einer Zugmaschine (Traktor) verbunden ist, auf dem Boden liegend über den Waldboden geschleift werden. Da hierbei eine Geradeausfahrt der Zugmaschinen im allgemeinen nicht möglich ist, kommt es häufig vor, daß der an dem Zugseil hängende Baumstamm mit seiner Stirnseite gegen im Wege stehende Bäume, Baumstümpfe oder Wurzelwerk anstößt und to eine weitere Bewegung in Richtung der angreifenden Zugkraft nicht mehr möglich ist. Aus diesem Grunde wird oft eine Hilfsperson eingesetzt, die das an dem Zugseil hängende Stammende so führt, daß eine derartige Blockierung möglichst vermieden wird.When transporting or dragging rod-shaped objects lying on the ground, it is often the case that the rods get caught on objects lying or standing in the way, thereby hindering further transport.
