Description

The invention relates to a support device for information boards or the like.

In the event of a breakdown, motor vehicles must carry warning signs which, when placed at a sufficient distance from a broken-down vehicle, should alert following traffic to the danger posed by the broken-down vehicle. Such warning signs therefore primarily serve to protect the broken-down vehicle and other road users.

In addition, it is sometimes desirable to be able to inform following drivers of the nature of a breakdown or accident and to ask for appropriate assistance.

In this context, the object of the invention is to create a particularly inexpensive and practical support device for corresponding information boards.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that at least two pockets, which are transparent on at least one side, are arranged one above the other or next to the other on a flexible carrier web, into which the - preferably film-like or flexible - information panels can be inserted parallel to the plane of the carrier web.

A sign with the words "Please help" or similar can be inserted into one pocket, if necessary in the local language, while the other pocket can be used to hold an information board with a pictogram indicating the type of help required or the reason why the vehicle has broken down.

According to claims 2 to 7, the carrier device according to the invention can be manufactured from a transparent film in a particularly simple and extremely inexpensive manner.

When not in use, the device can be folded up due to its flexibility, whereby the device parts lying on top of each other can be fixed to each other by adhesive areas or strips. These adhesive areas or strips can also be used to attach the device to the vehicle when in use.

In principle, however, it is advantageous if one of the occupants of a broken-down vehicle stands outside the vehicle and faces the following traffic, while moving the support device with the information boards like a flag or banner in order to draw attention to Eich.

Particularly preferred embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the drawing.

According to Figures 1 and 2, a piece of film 1 is folded over on two opposite sides to form a half-tube, such that the film areas 1' and 1" folded over against each other abut one another or overlap one another slightly to form a slit 2.

The edges of the film piece 1 running transversely to the slot 2 or the axis of the half-tube formed by the film piece 1 are connected to one another by forming the weld seams 3 and 4, so that two pockets are formed on both sides of the slot 2.

Information signs 5 and 6, preferably made of foil or flexible material, can be inserted into these pockets. These are shown in dotted lines in Fig. One information sign can

Close to the one fold of the piece of film 1, which is the upper fold in Fig. 1, a further weld seam 7 can be made parallel to the slot 2 to connect the film areas lying on top of one another, which separates the upper pocket in Fig. 1 from a folded area in which a handle opening 8 is made in order to be able to grasp the arrangement shown better and, if necessary, to swing it like a flag.

An adhesive strip 9 can be arranged on the side of the slot 2 near the other fold, which is the lower one in Fig. 1. When the carrier device shown § is not in use, it can be folded up like a booklet, forming a fold in the area of the slot 2, with the adhesive strip 9 holding the upper and lower halves in Fig. 1 together in the folded position.

If necessary, the adhesive strip 9 can also be used to attach the carrier device to the vehicle during use, in which case the lower pocket in Fig. 1 is used as the upper pocket and the back of the carrier device, which is not visible in Fig. 1, forms the front facing the viewer. The information signs 5 and 6 are then inserted into the pockets of the carrier device in reverse.

The embodiment shown in Fig. 3 differs from that in Fig. 1 essentially only in that the pockets of the carrier device are open towards the vertical edge of the carrier device on the left in Fig. 3. A weld seam 10 runs between the two pockets, which separates the pockets from each other and can be pulled slightly up and down around the adjacent corners of the information signs 5 and 6 in the area of the pocket opening in order to secure the position of the signs 5 and 6.

In addition to signs 5 and 6, sheets with instructions on what to do in the event of an accident or similar can be carried in the pockets of the carrier device.

If the carrier device is to be distributed as a promotional gift or similar, additional sheets with advertising prints can also be inserted into the pockets.
