According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the luminaire housing is characterized in that both the spherical half-shell and the housing part below are drawn inwards with a border on their sides facing each other, behind which a plastic ring is held in place, which is slotted approximately in the axial direction and which are connected in an interlocking manner to connect the spherical half-shell and the housing part.

By dividing the lamp housing into two parts, it is possible to use the spherical shell-shaped upper part for lamps with the same diameter and to place corresponding housing parts underneath, depending on the design of the lamp. The connection area can be designed in a tasteful manner by using the borders on the sides facing each other, which are designed with a relatively large radius. In a further development of the invention, it is proposed to shape the arrangements to form an inner annular space, in which the associated plastic ring engages with a web or a web section. Preferably, an internal thread, or at least a partial thread web, is formed in one plastic ring and a protruding thread collar is formed on the other plastic ring, which can be screwed into the first plastic ring with an external thread section.

The spherical segment-shaped housing part 2, which is also made of sheet metal, is placed under the spherical half-shell 1 forming the upper part with a detachable connection and whose outer contour continues the line of the spherical half-shell 1. This housing part has the downward-facing light exit opening 22. It is also provided with an inwardly drawn-in border 21 on its side facing the spherical half-shell 1.

A slotted plastic ring 4 is also held in place behind this border 21. This ring also has a slot 44 that is approximately parallel to the axis. The molded-on compression cams 43 also serve to secure the rotation of this ring in the annular space behind the border 21. This plastic ring 4 has an outwardly projecting threaded collar 40 with individual external thread sections. These external thread sections 41 engage in the internal thread of the plastic ring 3 held on the ball half-shell 1. The connection between the ball half-shell 1 and the housing part 2 below is therefore made in the form of a screw connection or a bayonet lock.

The housing part 2 placed underneath can easily be replaced by parts with a different shape, for example by a cylinder with a corresponding outer diameter and corresponding edging. The plastic ring 4 with its web section 42 is then also snapped into this edging and held in place, if necessary it is also secured by a special adhesive or the like.

Lamp housing with a spherical shell or cylindrical upper part made of sheet metal, characterized in that a spherical segment-shaped or cylindrical housing part (2) is detachably connected to the spherical half-shell (1) or cylinder forming the upper part. 2. Lamp housing according to claim 1, characterized in that both the spherical half-shell (1) and the housing part (2) placed underneath are drawn inwards on their mutually facing sides with a border (11, 21), behind which a plastic ring (3, 4) slotted approximately in the axial direction is held in place, which are connected in an interlocking manner to connect the spherical half-shell and the housing part. 3.
