Plastic envelope

The present innovation relates to an envelope made of plastic with a loading and unloading opening that can be fixed in a closed position by means of a pressure-sensitive adhesive application on the back of the envelope and which is provided with at least one material weakening, preferably formed by perforation lines.

Envelopes of the aforementioned type are known in themselves.

In the previously known envelopes of this type, the material weakenings in the form of perforation lines serve to make it easier to open such an envelope.

The perforation lines are provided at a clear distance from the adhesive application.

This makes it possible for previously known envelopes of the

It is possible to open a sealed envelope without destroying the perforation. This in turn means that such an envelope can be opened and resealed by unauthorized persons without the legitimate recipient of the envelope noticing. This is particularly undesirable wherever confidential documents are circulating in such envelopes.

The present innovation is therefore based on the task of creating an envelope of the generic type, in which every attempt to open it leads to visible damage to the weakened material formed by the perforation lines.

This task is solved in accordance with the innovation in that the perforation lines, when the closure flap is in the closed position, are directly adjacent to the edge of the adhesive application or are covered by the adhesive application.

If an attempt is made to open an envelope designed in this way, this will inevitably lead to destruction or damage to the perforation lines in the area in which the opening attempt is made.

This design is ultimately based on the idea that in the event of an attempt to open the envelope, the perforation lines will be destroyed in any case, so that the sealing flap can be detached from the envelope against the effect of the adhesive. In the event of an unauthorized attempt to open the envelope, the legitimate recipient can easily see whether an unauthorized opening has taken place or has been attempted.

Example of the innovation

The envelopes partially shown in Figs. 1 to 4 and each provided with the reference number 10 are all made of plastic.

Each envelope 10 is provided with a closure flap 12 in the area of its loading and unloading opening 11 in a known manner.

In the embodiment of the innovation according to Fig. 1, the closure flap 12 is provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating 13, which is applied in strip form and extends in the longitudinal direction of the closure flap 12 over the entire length of the closure flap 12. Immediately adjacent to the boundary edges 14 of the pressure-sensitive adhesive coating 13, there are material weakenings formed by perforation lines 15 parallel to the pressure-sensitive adhesive coating 13. If the closure flap 12 is now brought into its closed position, whereby it then rests on the back of the envelope 10, any attempt to open it, i.e. lifting the closure flap 12 from the envelope 10 against the effect of the pressure-sensitive adhesive coating 13, inevitably leads to the destruction of the perforation lines 15. This means that an attempt to open it or an opening of the envelope 10 can be recognized in any case.

In the embodiment of the innovation according to Fig. 2, two strips with a pressure-sensitive adhesive application 13 are provided on the closure flap 12, which run parallel to one another and extend over the entire length of the closure flap 12. A continuous perforation line 15 is provided between these two strip-shaped pressure-sensitive adhesive applications 13.

In the embodiment of the innovation according to Fig. 2, the strip of the adhesive application 13 adjacent to the loading and unloading opening 11 can have a somewhat lower adhesive force than the strip of the adhesive application 13 facing away from the loading and unloading opening 11. This can open up the possibility of using the envelope 10 as a normal, resealable envelope after it has been completely opened, whereby the perforation line 15 has of course been destroyed.

Deviating from the embodiment according to Fig. 3, of course, a strip-shaped pressure-sensitive adhesive application 13 according to the embodiment according to Fig. 1 can also be used here, so that the perforation lines 15 are at least partially covered by the pressure-sensitive adhesive application 13.

In the embodiment according to Fig. 4, the adhesive application 13 that holds the closure flap 1? in the closed position on the envelope 10 is attached to the back of the envelope 10. Furthermore, in the embodiment according to Fig. 4, the adhesive application 13 is circularly limited, the same applies to the perforation lines 15 that lead to a material weakening of the closure flap 12.

The areas enclosed by the perforation lines 15 as well as the area of the pressure sensitive adhesive 13 are relatively small in relation to the total area of the closure flap 12, but nevertheless offer the possibility of being able to securely attach the closure flap 12 to the envelope 10 and to make any unauthorized attempt to open it clear. In the embodiment according to Fig. 4, the perforation lines 15 are also destroyed by the adhesive forces of the pressure sensitive adhesive 13 with every attempt to open it.

In the embodiments according to Figs. 1 to 3, the respective adhesive layer 13 can be applied to the back of the envelope 10.

The material weakenings in the form of perforation strips should, however, always be provided on the closure flap 12 since material weakenings in the area of the envelope would lead to a reduction in the load-bearing capacity of the envelope.
